question about Power Flux

By roneba2, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Hello! I´ve been playing for a year, and yesterday something strage happened. In the middle of the game, we draw the Strange Flux Mythos Card, that opens a portal at the Independence Square. A player was there, so she fell into the portal. But the effect of the card says that all player in the other world should return to Arkham. So the one who just fell also returns? I believe so, but without exploring that dimension she could not close the portal. Can she step into the portal in the next turn?

First, the gate opens. Then, she's sucked it. Then after monster movement clue placing etc. you read the card. She returns to arkham and indeed she gets an explored marker. Rare, but it can happen.

I believe you do the Mythos cards in order of listed in the Mythos phase, so the text would kick last (after investigator is already sucked into the gate). Too lazy to check for the card, but if it says "return to Arkham", then the investigator would return to the gate and get an explored token (and would remain delayed).

These guys are both right. Consider yourself lucky--an Explored token with 0 Other World encounters is almost unheard of!

Thank you. But the rules don´t say that you NEED to have at least one encounter in the other world to receive the explored marker?

No, but the game was designed around the principle that you can expect to get two. That's never set in stone, however—if you get drawn through during the Arkham Encounters phase, for example, you can expect to get 3.
