Not sure if this has been asked and answered, but does gunner kick in after each cluster missile attack? (Obviously only if you miss)
Cluster Missiles and Gunner
This is covered in the FAQ.
There is a slot where it can fit in after each missile attack. But if you use it you can't perform any more attacks. So if you use it after the first attack you don't get the second from the cluster missiles.
I believe your options are:
Cluster (miss) / Gunner ?
Cluster (miss) / Cluster (hit)
Cluster (miss) / Cluster (miss) / Gunner ?
Cluster (hit) / Cluster (miss) / Gunner ?
Cluster (hit) / Cluster (hit)
The only way to get two "hits" out is if the first Cluster attack hits the target followed by the second either hitting or allowing the gunner to fire.

Those are the options. The first is not good, though. Better to attack twice with the missile.
He was just listing all possible options, not the best options.
Actually, there ARE times when you may want to use the Gunner even if the first Cluster misses. If you're using a named YT-1300 that Gunner attack will be with just as many, if not more, dice PLUS you can change target it desired. There's nothing "better" about using that second Cluster when your primary is at least as powerful as one Cluster would be.

I would much rather use any other missile, though. Clusters are, frankly, terrible, unless you're running Captain Jonus alongside them.
I actually think Cluster Missiles are great against certain targets. B-Wings, Y-Wings, YT-1300s and Lambda are incredibly susceptable to this weapon, as it's 4 unopposed dice of damage. Against something with 2 evade, you are usually off with a different munition, but just because they aren't a perfect weapon for every situation doesn't mean they don't have their place on the field.

I didn't know we were judging the value of Cluster Missiles instead of just saying how they work with Gunner.
At present there are only two ships, the YT-1300 and Firespray, that need to worry about that situation. When it comes to the Falcon Clusters are usually a waste as the Shuttle is the only target you are likely to get a better return with them. Now if you are carrying a Cluster for some reason I can certainly see why you'd just take the gunner attack with the second missile although I guess doing so does cheat you out of a possible third (or perhaps sixth) attempt at a target.
Now the Firespray is a much better candidate as it would have more low agility targets to shoot at but then it also has access to Jonus making those misses less likely; the overall combo also gets pretty expensive. There MAY be times you have a Firespray with Gunner using Clusters (although I draw a blank as to when) but the cluster1 miss followed by a gunner attack is something you just will not see.
