looks like the guys over at TC have a new tournament going on.

New Vassal Tournament
In the spirit of the above I'll be twitchcasting the
finals match
of this tournament tonight at 6:45 pm CST (game starts at 7:00 pm).

Some tourney backstory: tonight is the 9th and final round of the tournament,
which started with 72 players
and cut to an elimination field of 64 players after 3 rounds.
After a grueling 4 rounds
of elimination the field was reduced to 8 players, with the following list archetypes surviving:
Rebel squads:
– 1 4B variant, w/ x2 Ion Cannons (Sixblades)
– 1 Bloody Daggers variant (sozin)
– 1 twin Falcons (Debadwolf)
– 1 epic YT, w/ x2 Ion Turrets (Rekkon)
Imperial squads:
– 1 true swarm (Kineticoperator)
– 1 Soontir w/ decoys (Valuriel)
– 1 bomber swarm (Fuamatu)
– 1 swarm, w/ APT Bomber (Phildo)
(Some nice faction balance there!)
In the end Phildo and Fuamatu made it to the top of the pile. So we've got a bomber swarm versus a swarm with a bomber final table, which should be epic!

Dom has done very well with that list. It's 33 hull points to chew through compared to 24 hull of an 8 tie swarm. It's hard to clear ships fast enough.
