The Black Sun!

By Castlecruncher, in Game Masters

Hello, everyone. I've recently gained an interest in the Black Sun, based off of the large size and intimidating power of the organization. I was recently thinking of some ways that I could impliment this into my own campaign.

First off, I was thinking of having an anti-Black Sun mission as a punishment impliment. This mission will only occur if the group manages to really screw the crime lord they're in trouble with big time, and he captures them alive. My group's wise enough from past failures in other campaigns to probably avoid this, but you never know. This mission will only be applied if it's entirely the group's fault, like they are on a mission to drastically lower Obligation and they decide to sell the crime lord's special delivery rather than deliver it.

The mission itself is that the crime lord sends the group to attack a rival compound, saying that some other miserable failures will be going as well. Upon arriving at the rival base, it appears to be a standard corporation complex; then they see a Falleen with the gaurds who seems to be calling the shots, and Falleen normally mean Black Sun. It becomes immidiately apparent that this is a suicide mission, and the group has to either die, run away, or somehow complete the mission at hand. Again, this is a severe punishment mission.

Second, I was wondering if there was anything specific to be known about Black Sun not in the book. I really want to know the areas they control and their standards in military.

BlackSun and other well organized criminal organizations/syndicates are competitors and enemies of the Hutts. Its fun to play them against each other and make the Group decide which of these evil sides they will do work for...thus making enemies with the side they didnt pick.

For the Black Sun military, most of it isn't going to fly a Black Sun flag. Most will appear as corporate security assets of various shell companies tied to the Black Sun and others will be legitimate mercenary companies under the thumb of the Black Sun. Each of these assets might have almost no ties in command structure to one another. While this is a liability in deploying at fleet strength, the advantage is that its much easier to conceal force strength in this manner.
