Remy needs some help

By Church7, in UFS Deck Building

There are a few things I need to do with this deck. Firstly, I need to change the block spread, because I noticed that 1/3 of the deck is +1 mid blocks, and that's just the +1s, there are more after that, so I think I should consider changing that. Also, I would like to exchange a playset of something with bitter rivals, but I dont know what, I'm also considering switching something for Lord of the Makai, since it's pretty much Bitter Grudge, but without the bad check and a better block. Any ideas on what should leave, and what should stay, also perhaps what to cut to make it 60?

Any general ideas besides that would also help too.

Total cards: 65+Char. Average CC: 4.9

1 Character:

.Remy.

10 Assets:

4 Lynette's Shop (3/6 +1M)

4 Olcadan's Mentoring (0/6, +0L)

2 Omega Jacket (3/4 +1M) Unique

8 Actions:

4 Malicious Intent (0/5 +1M)

4 Power of the Light (2/3 +2H)/(4/3 4H 3D) Reversal

16 Attacks:

4 Charlie's Fierce Punch (4/3 3H 4D +1L)

4 Hurricane Punishment (5/3 5M 5D +1M)

4 Rising Rage Flash (5/3 3H 6D +2M)

4 Supreme Rising Rage Flash (4/2 3H 5D +3M) Multiple 1

31 Foundations:

4 Altered Mind and Body (1/5 +1M)

4 Chester's Backing (4/6 +1M)

4 Commitment to Excellence (2/6 +1L)

4 Lost a Sister (2/4)

4 Powerful Style (0/5 +2M)

3 Return to Southtown (1/6 +0H)

4 Speak the Truth (2/6 +2H)

4 Vanished Father (2/4 +1L)

You could cut 1x Lynette's, 1x Olcadan's, and the Powers of the Light to get down to 59+dude. +1M blocks are fine :P . I think you might want to consider chopping Lost a Sister for Makai High Noble to protect you against Olcadan's (and IMO those foundations are crap; 4cc ain't good, bad blocks, and you have to draw 2 out of 60 cards to get a merely decent effect once ). Also, it might be a good idea to cut Malicious Intent for Tag Along -- MI ain't bad, but TA lets you play another SRRF or whatever on your kill turn, as well as shutting down some dangerous character abilities.

I like the ideas, but the first suggestion of cutting down to 3x of certain cards wouldn't help too much, seeing as it's best to have 4 of each card to work best with Remy's first character ability, the better the chances of drawing a pair, the better. As for the rest, I've been thinking about kicking out the two remy foundations, atleast lost a sister, since as you said, it is a little hard to pull it off.

I think you should consider running remy with wind, it gives you billard player. Which will allow you the open ability to pull double copies of foundations into play to fuel rising rage flash. It also gives your sweet tech like shootings, healer, and clean freak. Also i reccomend cutting one attack in favor of seal of cessation, most tourny winning decks run only 8 to 12 attacks right now. All the top 8 decks for NOVA regionals all ran 12 or less attacks. With the way the deck looks there's a lot of low checks, which can possibly hurt you in the long run with forethought and anti k' being used so commonly right now.

I kinda like this, so I'm going to create an air alternate, and run them against eachother. I won't have the high degree of healing that I do currently, but maybe it'll work out for the best. I don't know if I'd like to run 12 attacks, as I don't seem to draw enough to kill as it is, but I'm sure I can figure something.

here is what I came up with for remmy it has a lot of defense and capability.

::Assets::
4 - Olcadan's
4 - Seal of Cessassion

::Foundations::
3 - Billard Player
4 - Fighting for Info
3 - Clean Freak
4 - Chester's Backing
4 - Shooting
4 - Soul of ling sheng su
4 - Healer
4 - Flames of Fame
4 - Blinding Rage
4 - White Magic
4 - Lost a Sister

::Attacks::
4 - Supreme Rising Rage Flash
4 - Charlie's Fierce Punch
4 - Power of the light

Basicly billards will allow you to pull whatever you need into play, fighting for info to pull back rising rage at an 8 difficulty with souls to pass it. Healers to counter stuff like feline spike, reppa, or lunar slash.White magic to gain momentum for the rising rage. Lost a sister for damage which can be pulled back using billard. Makai High Noble and Blinding Rage to counter olcadan's. Clean Freak, seals, and olcadan's for foundation control. Finally shooting for some sweet sweet tech. Remember with fighting for info there's not much of a need to play a large amount of attacks because you can simply take whatever you need from your discard pile and play it. Also remember you can use fighting for info > play an attack > ready it with shooting > discard the attack with flames of fame > then play the attack again. This will allow you to throw the same rising rage twice even if there's only one in your discard pile. Remember Flames of Fame and Fighting for info are very useful together.

Would healer really help, in this female-filled society? I mean, Remy is kinda tall...

I tried Billard Player. VERY eh in this deck. Then again if you're not running Spike, the game will go on longer which means that it may be a viable strategy.

Healer would still reduce damage back to printed, however, Remy might not always be able to play Reversals afterward.

The whole point of healer would to stop spikes, reppas, lunar slash. Those three especially spikes can kill nearly anyone in one shot if they're used right. I've never gone through any tourny without seeing 3/5 decks running atleast one of those attacks. Its why holding ground, fight or flight, and healer, have become very important in nearly every deck that has one of their symbols.

Philly Cheese is right.

Tapout finds Healer to be an auto-include in any deck that can run it. It can neuter almost every kill condition. Spike multiple and Reppa multiple become 0, Plasma Beams go back to 3dmg, Tiger Fury's go back to 4dmg, etc.

As for Billiard Player, that card wins so many games. It doesn't matter if it comes into play committed. You can wait till your next turn and you'll have that Seal ready, or Program ready, or whatever you want to be ready. You can even ready it on your turn with Shooting Cap.
