Can I place an evade token, then (if so equipped) use Push the Limit to place a second evade token down?
I've left my rules book at home, and I've tried searching but saw nothing specifically addressing this.
PtL and evade
No. I'll have to look and find the rule but it does specifically say that you cannot under any circumstances take the same action twice, even if one of them is a free action.
Side note: actions are not the same as tokens. So you could not focus twice, for example, but could wind up with two focus if you had, say Garven in your squad and he passed you his when he was done with it. So if there was someone who granted evade tokens to allies, you could have two, but you cannot just use the evade action twice.
I thought so.
Running Turr headlong into firing arcs with 2 evade tokens and 3 green dice, whilst his Saber buddies flank for a nasty sneak attack sounded too good to be true.
Hell I'd love to stick SL to vader and use it 2 times a round. Vader would be a decent squad leader.
But sadly .... this isnt the way it goes.
I mean stacking a focus and an evade is still a nice turtle defense for TIEs and the like, if they have PTL or someone with SQL. But yeah, alas, no doubling the same action.
