Mines would work on them, though. But : if you cancel Jonus, i wouldn't recomment Assault Missiles.

There is not much room for variants ... the Advanced are expensive.
How about trading the mines for stealth? We lose a bit firepower but we gain 2 hard to kill Advances
... a pity there are no missiles for 3 points ...
After looking at all of this, I'm pretty stoked about the Jonus list. I think if I ran with the second one, I'd use the mines just for fun and to see how strategic I could be. But the Jonus list looks solid with the assault and the PTL.
I think I favor the blocking and kill potential of the mines. They can be laid early in the game and remain there until detonated. You could really build position around them, funneling opponents into areas they may not want to go.

To expand on this, Proxies on a low pilot skill(Scimitars) will enable you to drop the proxie mines before the enemy has a chance to move, thus allowing you to make maneuvers that will let you drop your proxie mine in their template path.
Sceismics on higher pilot skill(Gammas) so you can view the battle field after some models have moved and make a decision if it's a good time to drop the bombs without wasting their effect.
I would drop to Scimitars and give the BH an engine upgrade.

FLUFF LISTS!
Major Rhymer's callsign actually was Scimitar1 and Captain Jonus Scimitar2, which make Jonus the wingman. And the Scimitar Bombers are actually some kind of elite ... which makes me wonder why the Gammas have the higher PS value...
Just like the Sabers were PS3 and the Avenger T/I's were PS4 + elite upgrade ...
So Scimitars should have PS4 + elite slot as well ... seems like somebody at FFG ****** this up ...
But nevertheless ... how about some playable fluff lists with Rhymer, Jonus and the Scimitars?
Would maybe also be interesting in a 2 vs 2 game, where one player commands the Scimitar Squadron, while the other player is fielding the Obsidian Squadron as the Bombers escord.
So any ideas for fluffy lists?
Lets start right away ^^ So I would say, fluffee it would be to have 2 wings, the squadron leader and his wingman and an additional wing. The ordnance depents on the mission, so if the mission is to intercept large ships, I would go for proton torpedoes. As support role in space superiority missions, missiles would be a good choice. And proton bombs for ... well ... to bomb asteroids
In this special case the Scimitar Squadron (wich actually was part of Vaders' Death Squadron) was send out to support in the pursuit for the falcon in the asteroid field. The bombers were equipped with proton bombs to bomb the larger asteroids. It is unknown to me whether Vaders' forces knew about the giant space slugs or this was just a desperate try to drive the Falcon out of its hideout.
Nevertheless, it was Rhymer, Jonus and the Scimitars you saw in Episode V, so:
Of course it makes no sense to use Rhymer and Jonus w/o secundary weaponry. But this could be an interesting scenario as well. Imagine Scimitar Squadron met the Falcon (with max upgrades) while flying from the slug.
It is really a pity that the bombs are not treaded like torpedoes in Attack Wing: drop the bomb and turn the bomb upgrade card face-down. Use an action to 'load the next bomb' into the dropper: turn card faceup again.

While the swarm attacks from the front, Rhymer acts like Vader would and outflanks the enemy.
I don't know if this would work out, but at least Rhymer could use boost and barrel to stay out of enemy arcs somewhat ^^
Ok, there is a lot of discussion about the TIE Advanced. The Adv is overpriced, thats a fact.
But after all it might might have a role as missile ship, teamed up with Jonus.
So, I have done 2 lists and I want you to choose one:

To be honest I could tweek them I would try A tweeked to
