Dark Heresy Mission Report 1

By Rob5750, in Dark Heresy Gamemasters

The following is a mission report from one of the 2 Dark Heresy games I'm running. One of my players sent it back to me and I thought it was cool and decided to post it. If this is the wrong place for this sort of thing then please direct me to the right one.

May the God-Emporor protect!

It seems that the authorities have lost contact with listening outpost X-Z359 near the Halo Stars. A team of Arbites were sent to investigate on 049.933.M41. At 2100 hours on 062.933.M41 the team arrived at the outpost and no further contact has been made. As a team within my employ I am sending you to outpost X-Z359 to investigate and report back to me ASAP.
Additional note: retrieve the data banks from the outpost.

As you instructed master, we have traveled with the Pilot ‘Barda’ to outpost X-Z359. Upon arriving we soft docked on the northern side of the outpost. As soon as we entered, it was evident that something bad happened here. The station seems to be running on back-up power and there are signs of battle. Las burns scorch the walls as do divots from small arms fire. We first advanced to the command center at 0700 hours and found more signs of fighting. At 0730 Barda voxed and said he had finished his sensor sweep and found another ship soft docked on the other side of the base at sub-level 2. We encountered 2 Orc ‘Freebooters’ on the lower level of the command center attempting to steal the stations Nav-Comp. We purged the xenos and continued our search.
As we reached the sub-level 1 storeroom we encountered 2 more Orcs with a las-cutter trying to cut through the blast doors into the docking bay. I was wounded in the leg during the fight; I will however survive the flesh wound. Sila, with her bolt-pistol and me with my chain axe delivered holy death to the xenos scum. Our next step is to enter the docking bay. I will of course report our findings as soon as I have them.

Additional Note: We believe the orcs to be nothing more than pirates who are here scavenging what they can. It would seem something much bigger happened here.

Additional Note 2: Our handheld scanners and shipboard scanners seem to be malfunctioning. They fail to pick up life signs we know are there and keep giving strange readings of massive bio-signs, but go blank before we can get a lock.

As always, your faithful subjects
May the God-Emperor Protect

So, is the real threat a bit more Tyrannidy? Though Ork freebooterz are always fun to battle against.

I'm thinking a few loose "Nids" should be fun!

the 'Nid idea i like alot. might just use it in my campaign.

how about haveing the really culprit/thingy that killed everyone a Dark Eldar?

i think i have the stats for them somewhere.

I'm gonna have some "Nid" Hybrids loose in the station. I like the Dark Eldar thing but I believe thats kinda the plot to the second story in Purge the Unclean, I'll have to take another look at it. I would like to say this..... Kudos! To everyone at FF that makes this game possible. My group and I are having more fun with DH than any game we've ever played.

is it? I havent got a copy of Purge The Unclean, i've only just started the game myself.

but i do agree with you, thanks to everyone at FF these sites are great for ideas and problem solving.

Ahhh, massive fluctuating bio signs :) Always fun...Especially when the life sign is hostile :P
