Force Powers question

By Desslok, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Okay, I finally decided to read the So You're a Force User chapters in EotE and AoR. Pretty straight forward and simple, at least from reading. I'm sure application I'll have a whole bunch of questions.

Actually I have one now - let say you've got Move and the four strength adders (10pts, 10pts, 15pts and 20pts). You don't have to activate the lower ones get the hiher one on, right? Lets say you want to lift a Silhouette 4 Monster. It's just one o to activate the 20 point tier and not o o o o to activate the 10, then the other 10 and then the 15 before you can activate the 20.

As a GM, that way makes sense to me - you can lift any silhouette with just one o - but I wanted to ask before assuming.

its up to your ranks in strength max 4 i believe which is perty big

As I understand it. 1pip to activate move and 1pip to activate you strength upgrade(s). It's worded funny but it does say " [...] equal to strength upgrades purchased"

Yep, in general, each different upgrade is 1 pip to activate, but you get all the ranks you've purchased for that 1 pip.

Basically, you're spending all that XP to pack more into one pip.

Yep, in general, each different upgrade is 1 pip to activate, but you get all the ranks you've purchased for that 1 pip.

That's what I thought - one pip gets you any tier on your purchased ladder - but it's always best to ask.

Also, many ranked upgrades can be activated multiple times for additional pips -- you might have to do this if your ranks aren't high-enough to pull-off what you want with a single upgrade, (but IIRC, the strength upgrade on move is an exception to this).
