Rules questions

By twak2, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Hi all,

Here are some questions you might be able to assist with:

Sense Power, Control Upgrade reads:

Ongoing effect: Commit (one force). Once per round, when an attack targets the Force User, he upgrades the pool once.

Does this work when the force user is flying a ship (or other vehicle), does it matter how big the ship is? Starfighter vs Freighter etc.

Deadly Accuracy reads:

Each time the character gains a rank of Deadly Accuracy, he must choose one combat skill. THe character may add his basic training tanks in that combat skill as additional damage to one hit of a successful attack made with that skill with non-starship/vehicle weapons. He cannot choose the same combat skill twice.

How often can this be used? once per round, encounter, session?

Thanks!

Twak

For Deadly Accuracy damage is added to 1 successful hit per round of combat.

One possible advantage to two-weapon fighting is the possibility to benefit twice from Deadly Accuracy if using two different combat skills. This is only an option for very high XP characters.

On the Sense Power, I believe that Sam Stewart confirmed on an Order 66 podcast (either the starship episode or the big Q&A two-parter) that Sense's Ongoing Effects could be used in starship combat... so long as the Force-user was piloting (the defense upgrade) or manning the guns (offense upgrade). At the very least, he had no problem in the GenCon game that I played in allowing my Force-user PC to do exactly that.

As for restriction on the size of the ship... go with what makes sense to you as the GM. Personally, I'd cap it at Silhouette 5 for the defense upgrade, as ships bigger than that often require multiple pilots in order to operate.
