As I was repainting a TIE fighter, one of the wing panels broke off. Super glue hasn't donw so well for holding it back together. Anyone have any recommendations on fixing it, or should just turn it into fancy debris and cry myself to sleep?

If you have a small drill bit or hand drill you can drill into both joining sections and then use a small piece of metal or plastic rod as a pin to help hold the two together when you glue it.
Had a similar mishap with an Interceptor.. super glue worked fine. the Drill and pin idea is also good.
Also.. instead of fancy debris, maybe the beginnings of an 'Ugly' type ship.. many possibilities..
You will need a pin vice,.some sidecutters and a paper clip, drill a small hole in each of the pieces, straighten out the paperclip and glue one end into the hole. Use the side cutters to cut the paperclip so you have 5mm standing proud. You should now be able to glue the second piece on and the paperclip will strengthen the join.
What Rodent Mastermind says, is probably your best bet. Although if you are looking for other options, zap gel glue, or a small amount of greenstuff may also provide a stronger bond than superglue.

I'd probably fly the one winged angel, and give them an intimidating paintjob. You've got yourself a Reaver Tie
I've had to do it with at least 3 ships. There is just enough room for it in the Tie arms. A lot of model shops do a kit just for this with a pin vice copper wire and the right size drill bits.
Rather than copper, I'd go with brass or steel wire, depending on the model. Brass is still soft enough to cut with an eXacto knife but is much stiffer than copper, and steel works well for larger pieces, though you'll need heavier cutters for that.
Really appreciate all the answers. Eventually the super glue held, I just had to be a little more generous with it, so now my blood-red TIE/ln is back to its two-winged self. Must admit, having the wing taken off made it easier to paint.
Eventually I'll probably put up pictures of some of my stuff. Need more colors...
Thanks, everyone!
