Picks of ALL new Lieutenant Pack Cards

By Cursain, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Jealous! I'm waiting to get a few of them (Eliza and Belthir particularly) before looking at all the contents.

dunno where he bought it

i looked everywhere, and found nothing

since i'm in france, it would be longer ...

Really disapointed in belthir's deck, to much card playing with the base 1 deck card. So, almost unusefull with the basic 2

I was going to agree with you about this at first, but realized that the Plot deck should be entirely compatible with just the base game, so there's no assumption of Basic II. As OL, you'll have to take this into consideration when starting a campaign: if you want to use Basic II, Belthir wouldn't be the best agent choice, eh?

I take it that he wishes the cards were more agnostic towards all the overlord cards so that they fit into more strategies.

Eliza's deck look very good imo, may well be worth using her just for that.

Drooling over getting them, just need a uk release now :(

Looking at Baron Zachareth's Plot deck, I think it will work really well with Basic 2, if only for one card - Nefarious Power. Since a lot of Basic 2 cards rely heavily on attribute tests and Nefarious Power adds 1 to the shield result, and add to the fact that Nefarious Power is used after the dice are rolled without causing a reroll means that you won't waste the ability and it will greatly increase the chances of cards like Blinding Speed.

That and combine Nefarious Power + Befuddle + Wicked Laughter (from Saboteur) and even Karnon now has a 50/50 chance of failing a Might check.

Belthir's Plot deck looks like you want to stick with just the Basic 1 deck and maybe add a few card drawing cards (Unholy Ritual, Bloodlust). These will help you cycle through your deck faster, which in turn will let you find the cards that work with the Plot cards you purchased.

if you ask me, this lieutennant pack system is a great way of bringing the old road to legend lieutennants back into the game. I'd love to see a Gata, the White Shadow pack, or Krieg the Relentless, or Kar'amog'atoth

the trouble is about talking about card's name.

saying for exemple "whenever a monster moves more than once per or gain movement point without making a move action, exhaust this card and all monster of this group may move one space"

you see ?

Just removed Belthir from amazon wish list...... Please more info guys

But the reinforcement card of belthir is awesome. Maybe I will try him with basic 2, but more for the fun than for power, since half of the cards would be useless.

OMG im so psyched!!! srsly i cant wait to get my fingers on these gems!

i was surprised on how awesome merick farrow looks... never liked him as a lieutenant really... and his teased cards looked alot like they were all around "magic" cards from the OL deck. but "bolt from the blue" "cabal" and "masques" looks really awesome.

IMO Zachareth together with belthir looks strongest (although i wont purchase belthir i guess, since i hardly use OL 1).

OMG =D

guess my first purchases will be zachareth, spligg, then merick <3

gosh 3 more days for the german release

I got my Lady Eliza the other day! Very excited to use her in a campaign (most likely Labyrinth of Ruin since we haven't done much of that one yet). Her base was a little bit bent, though... not enough to be angry, but just enough to be nitpicky. A little boiling water should fix her. The cards were a bit bent, too, but I imagine they'll sort themselves out with time.

Zachareth, Splig, or Belthir are going to be my next picks (not to use as agents -- to be honest, I'm not overly thrilled with the rest of the lieutenants as characters, so I'll buy them all for the minis, but most likely use their plot decks for people who want to play as the overlord once in a while). My boyfriend would love Lord Merick, so I'll most likely get that for him, too, even if he rarely OL's.

I'm most excited about Ariad, Serena/Raythen, and Valyndra. I wish they were all out now!

Just got my packs and I must say I really like Belthir's the best. Next to the obvious Zachareth. I also *really* like his mini. Has to be the best of the bunch. The reworking of Alric's art is nice as well.

Splig's plot deck makes me giggle. I might have to play him for lols at some point. He might make me use Overwhelm more often!

Some of my bases where bent as well. Boiling water can fix this?

Though it's for Citadel Finecast models, the same concepts apply. You might want to actually use a pot of boiling water. Be careful and don't hurt yourself. Water/steam burns suck.

Yeah, what Cursain said!

I've had to use the boiling method for warped D&D miniatures or Reaper Bones, and it does work for the most part. It's just frustrating that the minis are a little bent at all.

I also got Belthir the other day! At this rate, I'll have all 6 lieutenant packs in just a few days... (but I'll be broke). Belthir's miniature is phenomenal, and I actually quite like his plot deck. It's very specific for the base Overlord deck, but by golly, it makes that deck insane,

Thanks, Cursain! I will be careful with the water. I work with steam and hot water rather often.

I know, right! I have been playing around with the basic 1 for a little while (our group has been doing a silly run of one archetype epics. All healers is a nightmare for the OL...) and I am finding what I like about it over Basic II. Both are very handy. But Balthir's plot deck is just nuts with it! It will get funny very quickly. I can now understand why threats are costly for the OL. Some of the abilities can be game changing. Zachareth's is just nuts as far as game changing. I'm really impressed with my new toys.

Now if I can get my kitten to tell me where he put Eliza...
