If you took your squad to 125..

By HERO, in X-Wing

I'm talking about any of the squads you like to fly. If you were given 25 extra points, where would the points go? What would you squad look like after the adjustment?

I'm curious to see if this will allow for more support ships, more attack ships, more upgrades, or better pilots.

Myself I'd includ a support option like the HWK or Shuttle. Then upgrade pilots with what's left over.

Definitely a HWK! Tough choice for either jan or kyle

A HWK would be cool. I would give up some points elsewhere to at least give it a crew and cannon (or use Roark). Also might take a named pilot like Biggs or simply an additional low-skill pilot with an upgrade (Y-wing+ion cannon or X-wing+astromech).

Not sure what I would do for the Empire since I don't play them much. Maybe a Lambda, or 2 more academy TIEs. Just depends on what kind of list I'm running.

honestly when I'm messing around and making lists I find that just 5 more pts (105) makes a huge difference.

anyone else find this? that your ideal list is 5 pts too many?

also, to answer your question, I'd add 1 (or adjust to get 2) A-Wings Green Squad with missiles & PTL

Gold squadron pilot, ion cannon, R5.

It really depends on the squad I'm running. Heck, I could do 3x Bounty Hunters + Heavy Laser Cannon, with 5 points left to spare... :D

That's actually by design. They picked 100 points as a base, because then you have to make some hard choices about how to build your list.

125 or 150 seem to be good point breaks as well, becasue they let you add in a few more things, but you're still stuck making hard choices.

My son and I have started taking a 100 point squad, then bumping up pilots and adding upgrades to make 120 points. Makes for some fun combinations. A little better than the limitations on a normal squad but not excessively complicated.

I love playing more than 100 points on large tables. These are some of my favorites.
