A Few Interesting Questions

By Xylantrax, in Battlestar Galactica

Hi!

I'm sorry if these questions were asked before, but we were a bit confused in our first game. So, here are the questions:

1) Explain a situation please: a player draws a Cylon Attack card while some of the used in setup ships are on the table (Cylon Basestar, for instance). If so, do I need to put down only those I have or do I also move those on the table(according to the new setup)?

2) Am I able to use non-Action Skill cards (like Declare Emergency, Strategic Planning, etc.) in somebody else's turn (in order to help that player)?
Thanks a lot and sorry for my English)

1) Yes, using as much of the components left on the table as possible. However, the current player gets to choose how they are placed. For example, if a basestar is on the board and the new Cylon Attack Card calls for 2 basestars to be placed, the currentplayer gets to choose in which position a basestar is placed. Source : Pg 28 of the rulebook. If movement calls for basestars to be moved (Fire on galatica), all basestar on the board will fire (i.e even the one that was not placed this turn).

2) Yes. There are meant to be played out of your own turn too. And it might not be helping the humans in general too.. For example, it's Ann turn and her pilot is being targetted by a viper. if Bob goes next and plans already to reveal himself as a cylon, he might fire off a strategic planning card to ensure that Ann ends up in sickbay. And they don't always 'help that player'. Investigative Committee is pretty damaging to an unrevealed cylon.

Pardon me, just a clarification but all basestars will fire even those not placed? What does this mean? That if there is a basestar activation when basestars are placed four shots could theoretically be made?

Yes. Sorry.. my mistake.. the one not placed this turn refered to the one that was originally on the board..
