Movement Cards I Brought to Worlds

By MatchstickMan740, in X-Wing

For those of you that saw them, the Atlanta guys brought up actual cards of all the ships maneuvers. Credit goes to Tom Howard (GeckoTH) on BGG. We printed these off for our free league as a prize to the top 10. I saw a few other people that had the cards printed off on regular paper and wanted to share how we made ours.

We had these printed from ArtsCow; decent quality cards and the prints came our really nice. The league guys loved them and we've received some great compliments on them at Worlds.

I wanted to share the ArtsCow project with the community, but please remember Tom put this up for the community to use without asking for money and we gave them away from free.

I didn't show the backs in this picture but there are different backs for the imperial and rebel cards. Also in the project there is one set of cards that is double sided, so we printed off 2 decks which gave us 8 single sided sets, 2 double sided sets.

Very cool!

Very nice. Are there templates available for custom ships?

Now those are pretty cool, may have to pick up a set.

Unfortunately he only released the PDFs of them, I may be able to make a PSD for release for custom ships out of it. It won't be immediate though.

Does Artscow have permission to print those cards for sale?

Unsure so I pull the project from being copied for now and sent Tom a message, but that brings up the questions under a non-commerical © if you print something off at Kinko's for your own purpose is Kinko's violating the ©? Or even printing at home whoever sold you the paper, printer or ink are they at fault? Artscow charges a flat rate for the types of objects being printed on so are they charging me for the cards or the supplies being used?

I would venture to say that as a copy company, they are not in any hot water here. You are paying for their service.. I don't think they are making a profit from the game or the content, just getting their dues for the materials. It's not like they came up with the idea and made them at twice the cost for the product.

Just my 2 Credits

Now I have to wait for them to resurface... sigh

These are offered up for us to make use of, correct? Maybe I'm just being dense, but I cannot seem to figure out how to copy it for the life of me. I try the "Create a gift like this" button, but it comes up with an empty design template. I also can't find anything that will just buy it directly.

Help?

I opened the project back up. Try it again, there is an add to cart button now.

And there it is. Whew. Was feeling very dense there for a bit :)

Seriously painful shipping, but I'm always on the lookout for unusual items to use for prize support. Thanks for sharing your work on this.

Yeah and just so people are aware Artscow ships from Shanghai so it takes about 3 weeks to arrive to the east coast of the US.

I printed them on cardstock on a color printer and then laminated them at home, from the files on BGG. They are great, and especially helpful for people who are learning the game.

Question? When i add to cart is that price (about 14 bucks) for the full set or is that each individual card?

I wonder why FG don't came up with movement cards?

Makes more sense to me then the rules cards
