I was watching my mate Paul take the worlds last night and got to thinking about Advanced Sensors and super maneuverable rebel lists.
I came up with these two options.
If you were running them, which would you choose and why?

Let the Advanced Sensors builds start rolling in...
I'm going to put my money on the first build. A-Wings just don't pack the punch that you'd get from a single Ibby.
We've been back and forth on AS vs FCS for a while now and I have been 50/50 on it. I liked Paul's squad he used, but I am X-Wing challenged. (that is to say of all the ships I can't make that one work for me).
I also know Paul is an excellent flier and AS works to his style.
I am a hit and run guy. Ibi packs punch, but the A's can nip at ships wounded by the B's and are harder to hit.
I am torn and will probably fly both.
The choice also has painting implications, but that's cosmetics.
Most super maneuverable lists rely on high PS so they know where the enemy is. I don't know how possible this is with B-Wings. Saying that they have the hits to get it wrong some times. We have seen how good Advanced Sensors can be when used by a really good player. But you have to assume most of this is him being able to judge where the enemy is going to be correctly, I'm not sure how good mere mortals will be... but I have got lots of B-Wings now because it sounds like a lot of fun.
Sometimes flying a high maneuverability / low PS bird versus a high skill pilot can be a blast.. the game there being trying to out think his next step.
Without being immodest, I am a pretty good player and can run the scenarios for positions in my head pretty quick. The PS is the problem and I did think about pulling a 3 ship high PS squad along these lines.
I am going with B's and A's just because I think it will be a challenge :-)
I was using a 4x Blue Squad with AdvS at Worlds, it was a blast.
The nice thing about AdvS is that it's so versatile. You can take your action and then try to block. You can take your action and ram into your own ships, your opponent's ships, whatever. You can barrel roll out of the way of an asteroid before moving, target lock or focus before pulling a K-turn to line up a shot where you think your enemy will wind up. All kinds of shenanigans.
Exactly and Engine upgrade makes them even more mobile. Boost 1 left or right and the K-Turn for some angled attack shenanigans.
I recently created a 4 ship build with an ultra agile Ibby. I haven't been able to fly it yet, but I have really high hopes for it since a PS8 ibtisam with eng upgrade and advsensors is scary maneuverable. I imagine many people being upset tryingnto nail her down while the x-wings chew them a new one.

I like running a Hypermobile Ibtisam alongside Garven Dreis and "Dutch" Vander =D
