Hello guys!

Hopefully this thing was not asked before, otherwise I'd love it if you pointed me to the existing thread.

I tend to work with pictures rather than with maps (at least I plan to ). I feel detailed maps tend to restrict the imagination too much, and rather have a picture that give the general feeling of the place while I describe what's happening, or what's in front of the players.

Do you have good galleries or pictures database that you could share? I found one here ( http://www.designyourway.net/blog/inspiration/71-star-wars-drawings-and-illustrations/ ) but it has a common problem of Star Wars pictures searches: there are mostly pictures of existing characters, often Jedis from movies or the Extended Universe.

I tried typing Star Wars on Tumblr, Deviant Art and Google, but it is too vague a term and you find mostly useless stuff for an RPG game.

Are there any places you go for inspiration? It could even be pictures not completely related to Star Wars as long as they give the same feeling (Mysterious and beautiful planets, Abandonned ruins that look like they could be Sith, Characters that could be smugglers and bounty hunters, etc.). Anyway I'm being purposely vague in describing what kind of pictures I want, so that you can all share the good links you have (if you want to of course)!

PS: I'll add the links to the first post, and maybe we can start a kind of master list for Art and pictures for a Star Wars campaign? It's up to you guys really, I'll add any useful links I stumble upon in the meantime though.

Have you looked at the Star Wars Artist Guild at http://www.swagonline.net/ ? Those artists are a wonderful resource of images. Just be careful, it's generally considered good form to ask them for permission to use their pieces. Which most are more than happy to give.

You realize that neither of the ones you posted are searchable? Whereas I've found deviant art is with specific items; sith, mandalorians, etc etc

I'm not against having searchable links. I just stated that I couldn't find anything because my search was too vague.

But thanks for sharing some terms that would work with such a search. Do you go anywhere else than on Deviant Art (which I actually posted in the OP when I said Star Wars was too vague a search term.) to find your pictures? Or are there any specific terms you use when you search for pictures?
