Adventure Recommendation?

By thetodd, in Game Masters

Hello!

I am going to be co-GM'ing a game in a few weeks and I wanted some advice from you incredibly helpful posters.

The first GM is going to run us through the Beginner's Box and a follow-up module and then I'll take the reins for a module/adventure of my own. I've flipped through the modules found on the Compiled Resources thread, but I'm not sure which to dive into and try.

This will be my first time GM'ing for this group, and I want to make it a good experience for all involved.

So, do you have any recommendations on a great adventure for me to sink my teeth into?

Thanks!

Do you have Scum & Villainy from Saga Edition?

I don't own anything at all Star Wars related, other than the Core Book. And maybe an old stormtrooper toy that I painted red with nail polish to simulate blood when I was a (twisted) kid.

I thought that the adventure in the core rules, followed by the adventure in the GM screen made an excellent pair of starting adventures to get my players up to snuff with the rules.

Yeah, the CRB adventure might be fun. There's also the Black Sun adventure on EotE's support page that is all put-together and is a nice change from Hutts & Hutt space.

Hi Todd, it's me, your GM.

If you don't mind taking a suggestion from me, you could look at this thread . There's probably at least 25 adventure ideas on there. Unfortunately, they require more fleshing out than you may want to do, given your lack of familiarity with Star Wars. There's always Wookieepedia though.

I have enough other ideas that you can feel free to run the adventure in the back of the book. Otherwise Thaliak can run it.

The black sun adventure would work too. In both the cases of the adventure from the back of the book and the black sun adventure, you might need to toughen up the NPCs *slightly.* You can use your judgement though. Both adventures are intended for a brand new party. The party will have somewhere between 70 and 100 exp by the time I'm done with you.

I'm a big fan of the Enemy of my Enemy module... very fun sessions with my group...

I am new to GMing Star Wars and am co-Gming with a couple of other guys in our group. One of them ran the CRB adventure, and then we segued into the GM Toolkit module that was ran by another. I was on the hook to run Beyond the Rim for the group next, but since I hadn't GMed the system yet, and am not that experienced overall...I chose to run them through Rondesvous at Ord Mantel first (converted to EotE by Donovan Morningfire). I wanted to have a suitable set up and hook to get them to The Wheel, and one of the PCs is a former Senator (Politico) from Ord Mantel...so it seemed perfect.

I did a little research on Ord Mantel on Wookipedia so I was better able to describe the setting to the PCs and have a name for the city they were about to land in. My hook was to have a known contact get ahold of our Politico and tell him that they have information that may be of use to him in regaining his status and clearing his name (His brother defamed him and he was forced to flee, so he could take his position as senator). The contact was to meet them in the cantina where the rebel scout Renci Tosh ends up pleading for help. The contact tells them to meet the PCs distant relative at The Wheel who has a holovid containing incriminating evidence against his estranged brother. Including that set up, the adventure was done in about 3 hours.

I remember Han Solo saying in Empire Strikes Back that he ran into a bounty hunter on Ord Mantel which was his motivation to get on with settling that obligation he had with Jabba. After a little research I learned of Skorr, the cybernetically enhanced bounty hunter who bases his operations out of Ord Mantel. I had this guy stand in as the bounty hunter that ambushes them near the crash site....he ends up fleeing after his minions go down and his identity hasn't been revealed quite yet.

At the end, the PCs are convinced to take Tosh and her scanner data back to her base of operations...she gives her sales pitch on the rebellion and voila, the PCs have an 'In' for Age of Rebellion and are ready to start earning Duty by fighting the good fight. Right now we plan to mix the two (obligation and duty) and likely wont go into full fledged rebel operative mode until after the AoR core book comes out next year. A few rookie mission here and there are definitely in the works though.

I plan to tie the Han/Luke/Leia visit to the Wheel into the Beyond the Rim adventure...even if it's just watching the Millennium Falcon blast out of the space station followed by a couple of ties and a Lambda shuttle...and seeing 'wanted' holovids of them while they are information gathering for the Sa Nalaor .
