Hi all!

New to these forums, and to the game. Have the book, but haven't played yet (hoping to find an online game soon).

First question, then - what is the best forum to locate an online SW:EotE game?

Second question, how possible is it to play a shard/iron knight character in EotE? I could see just taking a standard droid and making it Force sensitive as one option. But would that be overpowering? Is the lack of Force use there to balance something, or is it just flavor?

I have long (loooooooong) wanted to play a shard character, and aside from two abortive campaigns that both fell apart due to conflicting schedules and whatnot after a session or two, have never had the chance. I see the Shard as highly flavorful, and would love the roleplay opportunity - not just looking to make a general Greivous clone (in fact, that is nearly the opposite of what I want an Iron Knight to be - not really interested in lightsabers or a combat droid body; looking for a utility or protocol droid who utilizes the Force to everyone's surprise).

Since the Shards are basically living crystals, you'd pretty much need to find some way to make them mobile. Personally, I'd go with the droid physical traits but without the skill bonuses, as a Shard's "brain" isn't built the same was as a droid's processors. You'd need to figure out how much XP or stat points that would be worth, but it could be something to try.

As i read thrue Shard description, i would agree With our dear friend Librarian, that you take droid physical traits without the skill bonuses. And i would say then add few XP to creation,

But on the other hand, Shards are put inside droids. For example, assasins droids body would be better suited for combat that protocol droids body.

Well, in your place i would choos droids Classification - Protocol droid, astromech or combat, then add minor skill bonus to that droid.

For example, if you have Assasins droids body you add 1 skill point to Stealth or coordination, Because that droid was build for that.

But of curse that is just my opinion.

But i would allow or go like that for my group.
