They have been up for a while and in don't think were have a street date for them Waylaid are bit notorious for this.

If your asking our opinion, mine is to probably avoid buying this.

There are many other options, purchase or homemade.

Don't know if this is better than the last FFG tile kit but I think it was recalled and then reworked.

All depends what you want. Most options will be as slippery as your table and so you may wish to modify your ship bases whatever you choose. Also most vinyl print options can be purchased for less if not half.

Personally, just as an informing option I got sick of slippery and thought that if my mat was non slip and my bases i could play anyone anywhere and my ships would not slip on thier surfaces, nor thiers on mine.

I went very simple.

Bought a 1m square sheet of 1.5mm thick black silicone rubber and then cut to size, then did some simple brush flicks of white paint and a few bigger dots with a skewers to look like stars.

The off cut I have glued into the recesses of some of my bases.

Oh and first had to prep silicone with acetone to clear of the talc like stuff it comes coated in, but this is also what makes it tacky to the touch.

Acetone about £5 500ml bottle

Silicone £30 plus shipping.

3mm fits perfectly into recess but in testing found the sheet more inclined to warping when rolled up/ folded

Sorry, started rambling a bit there, probably not even what you were asking.

Hello Rodent, you must have posted while I was typing.

Thx for answering my iffy , are they the same tile set query.

See you 18th january for a rematch maybe.

You too Captain if your anywhere near milton keynes that Sat.

I know its nowhere near you but never know.

For my purposes it isn't worth it. We play big 250-300 point games and most often with 2-5 players in multiplay on as small as 3 x 5 even. I would have to buy multiple to run on our future 4 x 8 or 4 x 6 board.

Unless you are ever in my neck of the woods we could make a day of things.. I'm not sure which side of MK you are.

I was just being a good little community member!

Alerting others to the preorder etc

I definitely wont be buying it

I just don't see how the tile set can be tournament legal, I mean, you are practically putting a giant grid on the table. It seems like a way for people to more accurately predict their movements.

The Wayland site says the tile kit is releasing November 31st. I can guarantee it's not coming out November 31st!

In overview it's not a lot of help, and doesn't help one player more. So not an issue.

We use a 3" x 6" black felt star field mat on my pool table to play 20 ship games. The black felt is relatively cheap and helps pervent ships from sliding.
