ABXYY Rebel "Swarm"

Any ideas to improve this squadron, while still keeping it a "swarm" of 5 ships?

  • Prototype Pilot/A-Wing (17)
  • Blue Squadron Pilot/B-Wing (22)
  • Red Squadron Pilot/X-Wing (23)
  • Gold Squadron Pilot/Y-Wing (18)
  • Grey Squadron Pilot/Y-Wing (20)

I would drop the Red and Grey down to Rookie and Gold to save 4 points. Then I'd have an R2 on the Rookie and Advanced Sensors on the B-Wing.

Make the Grey a Gold would be the first suggestion. And the Red to a Rookie would be the second. That way 4 of your 5 ships all have the same PS. With the remaining 4 points, I'd probably replace one of the Golds with a Blue/Rookie... or if you wanted two Y wings, then put a Stealth on the A wing.

You could also drop the Grey for a Prototype for 3 points, drop the Red to a rookie for 2 points, then give your Y-wing an Ion turret, or a blaster and an R2 for the X wing.

Y-Wings without turrets are not a very good idea.

As MrHello suggests, drop the Grey for another Prototype and drop the Red for a Rookie. Then, drop the Gold for a Rebel Operative with Ion Cannon. Leaves you 2 points for an Astromech and/or Crew.

Edit: 2 Prototypes and 3 Blues might be worth trying.

3 Blues and 2 Prototypes is very solid. I've run it a few times casually and not lost with it yet. Actually the games weren't even close. You have speedy annoying flankers, and highly maneuverable slow-speed tanks.
