I don't know if this has been brought up but how about the idea of FFG printing tokens for the people who don't have the figures from the first edition to use with the convertion kit. Making the plastic minis available would be ideal but costly. Making tokens would be a cheaper alternative.

Couldn't agree more, surely there is a lot of people who didn't buy all the add on's for D1E and FFG don't seem to be producing the monsters in D2E of the same type, I think an Add on with D2E quality sculptured D1E would be good but this would be better for now
Check out Board Game Geek. There's a file there you can print so you can make your own tokens / stand-ups.
I cannot find them on BGG anymore.

There is a PDF on BGG with a folding version of the monsters with stands. A bit hard to locate though.
