Slowest Boat Ever

By Goknights12, in X-Wing

What Columbus style boat do they ship things on? I mean honestly With all the money they are making they should invest in a plane Haha.

They're shipping it in a Lambda-Class Shuttle.

Are you saying our Wave 1 hasn't arrived because it's been hijacked by a Wookie?

**** those wookie pirates!

If the pirates have stolen all the wave 1 ships, maybe we'll get that 3rd faction after all!

Yes disgruntled Wookies

That shouldn't be a problem unless it somehow it got past us.

We're not behind it are we!!??? Oh no it will never turn arround!!!!

It was hijacked by somali pirates! Send in the SEALs! Somebody rescue Captain Phillips! Errmerrgerrd!

Maybe they are on the U.S.S. Amazon! :P :P :P

I Kid! I Kid!

The boat left at the right time but as it is scaled 1/270 it will have to make a few return trips....

It might get here by X-Mas...

The Maneuver Template keeps sinking.

Amazon in the U.S. still has some Wave 1 ships in stock for retail price, prime eligible. I don't think the UK does though.

Cargo boats are slow and (relatively) cheap. If they shipped them by air they'd probably go bankrupt.

Hire the Mouse...

All jokin' aside. It's not so much the boat itself, but "Customs". Most freighters will sit in port for up to 2 weeks before it is even unloaded. Then customs has to check the cargo and release it to be sent to it's destination. Which that is FFG's warehouse that, then sends the stock to distributors, who then send them to the stores, and then they ship your stuff to you.

From China to you in a speedy 4-5 weeks!

The container might sit for a while waiting for customs, but not the ship. I used to work on trans-Pacific container ships and the longest port time you get is around 24 hours, and that's for a complete unloading and reloading.

Containerization is amazingly fast. Its the paperwork that slows the process down.

Can't we hire an Outer-Rim Smuggler to avoid all that mess?

Of course not, being perfectly legal, upstanding citizens as we are we would never countenance such shady dealings.

But I know a guy....

I've heard of this guy named Malcom something, he'll take the job. Supposedly has a good boat...

That Malcom guy works one universe over... the far away one not the far, far away one.

He's in a mod of the Firespray line isn't he? A F1Y instead of a F31?

Slow boat? Ha, just be glad it is not a Kick Starter!

Kick starters are over as far as I am concerned, if you can't make a product and sell it, go home.

Stay on target!

Love the Firefly references! Who has the skills to do a pilo and a title card?

And Kickstarters are still as awesome as the people who run them. Know your project creator or don't give them your money. If I don't have heavy recommendations from someone else I trust, personal contact for them, or just feel like gambling its not worth it. Pick a good creator and you'll get a good project.

And back on topic... How much slower does the Lambda shuttle, with these minis on it, fly when the wings won't fold down?
