Rebel lists.

By Breaking The Law, in X-Wing

Hey guys, I just sat down and wrote out a paper compiling all the rebel lists I enjoy flying. I figure, since we regularly see posts on here asking for lists, I would share it with the community.
A lot of these you have probably seen before, but I hope you either get some new ideas from this, or find a fun new squadron to try out. Feel free to copy paste this and fly any of these you like. I know some of these ships have unreleased upgrades listed. The people I play with, we used to be competitive 40k players, so we are more comfortable with an army list format anyways, and kind of break the system this way. Sorry.

I'm surprised I didn't see any Double Falcons or Han-Shoots First builds, even though you did have one that features a YT-1300...

I just ordered a falcon off mini market about 2 minutes ago, and used one for the first time, the wedge/biggs/chewie last yesterday. So I just sort of forgot about HSF.

No worries, mate.

For those who don't know,

Han Shoots First refers to any fleet with a Named YT-1300 pilot with a Gunner co-pilot, though the interaction is particularly good with Han Solo in the pilot's seat. It usually calls for Marksmanship, though I like to run Expert Handling for the amazing value large ships get out of the barrel roll.

It's best flown with two semi-cheap escortsfor screening and clean-up. It's Rookie Pilots usually, though you can go for Y-Wings with a turret if you use Chewbacca or Lando in the Falcon, for "Firing arcs? What's that???" interactions. This variant is sometimes called Norton 360 .

Double Falcon replaces the pair of semi-cheap escorts with a 2nd Named YT-1300 pilot with a Gunner co-pilot.

For a trolling fleet that is comparable to a Double Falcon or Norton 360 on paper, might I suggest:

Murder of Crows : 5x Rebel Operative [HWK-290's cheapest pilot] + Blaster Turret. A 5-ship swarm that is forced to use actions to have any offense whatsoever, but it's a 5-ship swarm with 3 attack dice and a 360 firing arc, with 25 total hp and 2 defensive dice per ship....probably won't catch on, but it's fun to think about ;-)

A friend used to run Han with chewie crew and 2 Green Squadron Pilots with PTL/Stealth device really well. The A-wings can do some blocking, but are not tempting targets due to defense 4, and if focused/target locked play excellent clean up crew. It's worth noting I do play rebels almost exclusively, so that may have enhanced the effectiveness of this.

I think the issue that the murder of crows list has is just the lack of utility of 5 hwks in other builds. A lot of other spam type builds only require a small investment over what you probably already own, that one is buying 4 more hwks than you would ever field for a gimmick. With that said, definitely sounds like it could be fairly effective.

Exactly the problem with it, I'm afraid. Still, it's like having 2.5 falcons, as far as firepower and hp, with more dodging power, and poor maneuverability mitigated by the fact it's split into 5 ships... I really really really want to borrow enough HWKs to run it at least once :D
