By Aectan, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

Hi all! Last week i got LoR, LoW and Trollfens, and of course there are some questions.

1) Geomancer's summoned stone: ''each of your attacks, targetting a monster adjacent to a summoned stone gains 1 surge''

So who is affected by this ability? Only geomancer or everyone who attacks adjacent to the stone monster(even that stone?)?

2) if beastmaster uses skill 'changing skins' and he got skill 'savagery' would he add additional green die to roll? I think yes, but what if i mistake:-)

3) when silhouette is making her feat, must she complete her movement before perfoming another actions or not? For ex. she makes HF and moves 2 spaces, then she performs an attack, moves 7 spaces, then suffers 2( or some) fatigue to reach one more search token and moves last space with free searching action. Cans she do it?

And one more thing

4) There is a fact, that hero/monster that moves by diagonal moves faster than hero/monster that moves along space's sides( i hope u'll understand what i mean, if not i can post an image).

Is there any reason why diagonal movement isn't limited by any rules?

There is a rule in some games with square spaces that figure must spend twice as much points to move every second space when moving by diagonal.

I understand, i can use this homerule freely, but it's intresting to me why FFG doesn't include this rule? I think it should solve common problem when heroes run through the map in one turn.

Thanks for ur answers!

Only the Geomancer's attacks gain this benefit. The surge gained will affect the entire attack, whatever it gets spent on, but note that the figure standing adjacent to the stone must be targeted , not merely "affected" if we're talking about an AoE attack.

2) if beastmaster uses skill 'changing skins' and he got skill 'savagery' would he add additional green die to roll? I think yes, but what if i mistake:-)

Yes, he would gain the bonus green die. The Beastmaster (a hero) is making the attack and the target monster is adjacent to the Wolf.

No, Silhouette must use up the entire movement granted by her feat before doing anything else. The reason for this is because her feat is not a Move Action, and a Move Action is the only thing that can be interrupted to do other things.

I suppose the question of whether or not she can spend fatigue for MP in the middle of her feat is a bit of a grey area, but I'm inclined to say she can't, based ont he ruling for Pit Trap. An effect (which cannot be interrupted) must be completely resolved before other effects (such as spending fatigue) may be done.

4) There is a fact, that hero/monster that moves by diagonal moves faster than hero/monster that moves along space's sides( i hope u'll understand what i mean, if not i can post an image).

Is there any reason why diagonal movement isn't limited by any rules?

Because they decided they didn't care about that detail. All board games have a certain level of abstraction. The fact that figures must move from space to space and can't just stop anywhere is such an abstraction. Some systems take into consideration the question of diagonal movement being longer than orthogonal movement, others don't. Descent is in the latter camp.

I understand, i can use this homerule freely, but it's intresting to me why FFG doesn't include this rule? I think it should solve common problem when heroes run through the map in one turn.

It's also largely for streamlining and simplicity. As it's a rule that applies to monsters as well, both parties are on even ground, and you'll find there's just as many places where monsters need to move quickly across the map as there are where heroes need to as well.

In addition, most maps aren't just one big open space, so movement has to go around walls and obstacles anyway, which can slow things down.
