Ok at gencon ffg announced capitol ships for the x-wing game. team covenant has or had them for preorders i looked in the ffg site and cannot find any hint of them anywhere anymore. (sad sad face . so were they scrapped for the imp aces? or what i want to buy these ships but. not gonna waste money on a pre order if they went bye bye.

As far as I know, they're waiting for licensing approval. With Disney, that could take a while and be expensive.

Yeah any number of things could be holding them up, from adjusting the models to running into some unintended balance issues with the ships or cinematic play in general. Especially with the new movies being made the guy in charge of approving things like this that are effectively side projects could be busy (Something similar has been holding up the dragon age Tabletop game from GR for about a year now). I think we need to wait some more and see.

Or they tend not to show up on the upcoming page until they are 3 months from when they expect to arrive (barring delays, of course). April/May 2014 sounds about right, imo, so it will be a while before they go onto the production docket. Last thing they need is another Starfield tiles...

@wackydave I would submit the Sith as the technical manuals always had much bigger numbers than Star Trek.

I always thought they were for 1Q 2014. So I can't see how this was going to replace the Aces expansion pack.

Yep that's what I thought, they are not even both coming out at the same time apparently.. The Imp Aces are there to give them something to sell at Christmas, then I believe we will have the 2 big ships a couple of months apart then Wave 4.

From what I have read the capital ships "cinematic" release is not part of the standard game and is more of an adjunct so it should follow FFGs release policy but not replace any of the main games release waves.

Right on the $$$. They said that in the video coverage at GenCon too.

The Rebel Transport and it's companion X-Wing are on display at the shiny new Games Center. Maybe it's just taking a while to get it all figured out. They did say early 2014.
