What if FFG just haven't updated their site yet? Mind blown.

Some games like say Warmachine actually has a clause that prevents online retailers from marking their product down by mor then 10% just so the LGS can stay competitive, because they know they need LGS's to keep their sales up.
Not that I know if FFG has any kind of clause for anything but touche. I understand working with the loyal.
But it is highly feasible Amazon is one of their larger retailers. Surely there is no lgs (Or 3-4) that sales in that volume. Miniature market and the like maybe.

My mind = blown
Edited by Hav0kI'm to green to know that.
That's fine, I hope you aren't seeing any snark or anger in my posts. I don't intend for there to be any. X-Wing is a bit different from every other mini game, in that it has attracted a lot of non-mini gamers to it.
Surely there is no lgs (Or 3-4) that sales in that volume. Miniature market and the like maybe.
Sure no single one, or even 3-4. But you consider the combined sales from every LGS and compare that to Amazon?
LGS' already have trouble competting with online retailers, letting online retailers have stock even 4 or 5 days before it's shipped to the LGS would make things even worse. Amazon has the advantage of keeping stuff in huge wearhouses. LGS' have to consider qutie carefully how much shelfspace they can devote to each product line.
Having 3 or 4 shelfs of X's, Y's, HWK's, Core sets, ect... just sitting there because everyone already bought what they wanted from Amazon hurts the LGS quite a bit. I know if I were a owner, I'd have to serriously consider how much space I'd want to devote to something that doesn't sell. I'd be inclined to push people towards Attack Wing instead.
I guess that's part of why I care. I've helped get a X-Wing following going out of my LGS. I'd hate to see him get a shipment of Wave 1 stuff in and not be able to sell it, because everyone got what they wanted off of Amazon.
As far as Min Market and others... Going off the wholy unscientific 'how many posts I saw' method... I'd say that the vast majority of people who post here or on other X-Wing boards pre-ordered their Wave 3 stuff from either Mini Market, NWS Games, or their LGS. Again, that's not exactly hard evidence of anything. But it is anecdotal evidence of where most people do thier shopping.
I think part of it is that most gamers would rather see their money go to their LGS first, then a online gaming retailer like Miniture Market second, and then Amazon. Just because it's a good idea to support those places that support our hoby.
What if FFG just haven't updated their site yet? Mind blown.
I've been questioning that from the start. But now, with it being nearly 3 days since Amazon had stock, but no one else has. I have to question that.
Plus according to people who've played the LCG and and such for a while, FFG is pretty good about keeping that page updated.
To this I say... Touche sir. I'm to green to know that.

You should listen to Steven V. Cole of ADB (Starfleet Battles, FedCom, etc...) vent about internet retailers sometime...
The fact of the matter is that game companies *need* retail stores. Good retail stores have gaming areas, and gaming areas provide a location to meet up with others and play. No gaming areas mean that a lot fewer people are able to find opponents, which means that a lot fewer people buy into the game, which means that a lot less product is sold.
So favoring Amazon at the expense of the retailers is not a smart long-term move on the part of any game publisher.
Edited by Eumerinhttp://www.miniaturemarket.com/ffgswx20.htmlBut again there's several issues with that.According to the Upcoming page on this site.2) The X-Wing and Tie Fighter are still listed as on the boat. So they haven't even made it here yet.3) The Y-Wing and Tie Advanced are listed as At the Printer, so they haven't even shipped yet.Sounds like they have arrived and due to the supper logistics of amazon...
Listed for sale there^
But as "in development" hereV

I admit the amazon CS Email was vague. So, I sent one to FFG.
And it looks like there is still a mystery. This is a fun diversion from workday activities. If there are still wv1 ships available next week I'll buy another batch, if not FFG says this month. Either way we will have access to all models. So I guess we win either way.
VanorDM, I've read no snark in any post as I hope you haven't. Like yourself, I would also like to unravel the mystery of the secret supply chain.

Well my order has been sitting at "preparing to ship" for more than 24hours now. I'm getting a bit concerned.
I was quick on the draw and got some Xs and Ys on Wednesday, two day shipping. They're here, and they don't seem to be painted any differently than the older ones.
The background image is a big red planet Yavin (I guess). I can't remember if that's how it was before, but I think it was just a black starfield.
There's a time-code (I think) by the UPC: 1804SEP13, 1802SEP13.
Edited by DagobahDaveMy packages are sitting at home patiently waiting for me.

Just got mine too. The X's and Y's have Yavin in the back, the Ties both have the first Death Star in the back. I did manage to get a wave 1 tie a few weeks ago and it only had a black starfield in the back.
Was there a run of wave 1's with backgrounds?
My new Expert Handling cards have been updated with the card text from the FAQ/errata.
Very nice. thanks for all these updates, helps with the curbing of wait insanity.

Yeah, I want a few more, but now I'll just wait for miniature market to get them.
All of mine except the x-wings that came from Phoenix stated the mentioned "SEP13". The x-wings state "DEC12".
I ordered mine last night a little before midnight, and I got them 12 hours later, man that shipping was fast! ![]()
Well I have an order placed at my FLGS for most of wave 1 everything but the Y-wing. They haven't received anything yet plus me and a couple of people are waiting for the hwk-290 which they haven't received yet. I went to Barnes & Noble yesterday and order one of everything from wave 1 later when I checked my email at work. I got a message from them that thet are shipping my order on Monday. When my FLGS gets my order in I am still getting it there as well. Just my two cents
Stopped at my local Barnes & Noble today, and picked up an X, TIE and Advanced. All of them had just the stars background, all of them are from July 2012. Already had a Y-wing that my FLGS happened to have. Extremely happy to have found the rest.
Y's and X's IN STOCK on Amazon.com... ordered one of each just now!!!
Advanced listed as in stock as well.
I ordered a TIE Fighter from Amazon when they were in last week; received it on Saturday, it was a July 2012. I found a Y-Wing last night at a FLGS, and it was also July 2012.
My Y-wings shipped from :
Fernley NV
My order came in yesterday and they are all Sep 3013 reprints.
