Who cares why they're in stock? They're there, and they're at MSRP with Prime shipping, so lets be happy!
Wave in stock and ready to ship
Who cares why they're in stock?
We should care. Because if this is the wave 1 reprint, then you might be able to get it somewhere else for less, or from your FLGS. But if it's just found stock, then you should snap up what you want now... Or wait until the reprint hits the stores.
Mine is shipping from Dallas, TX.
Everything but the X-Wings shipped from the city of brotherly love (philly). X-Wings shipped from Phoenix, az
Well, that's right across the river from Philly so probably the same warehouse. So far found stock. Both my TIE/x1 and Y wing were sent from Lawnside NJ. So what do you hypothesize this means?
Side note: these are printed in China, so if Amazon was getting stuff directly somehow you'd expect west coast warehouses to get them first. I live in California, so shipping to me from Philly seems to indicate no west coast warehouses had them yet.
This is fun for no really good reason...
Yes, this is very true. I live in Cali as well and my previous FFG stock came out of the warehouse from San Bernardino. This newest order of mine (X-wing Exp, Tie Exp, and Tie Advanced) came out of PA.
Just ordered 4 Y-wings, at $14.99 each, direct from Amazon with Prime. Haven't seen them this low in months (always third party rip off prices).
Pretty sure that's MSRP.
Mine is shipping from Dallas, TX.
Looks like they got more shipments then.
Well, that's good for everybody.
I took a look at the adds on Amazon with my local Games Store Owner and he showed me that all of the X-Wing stuff like Y-Wings were being sold by a third party. Your shipping is probably around the same price as the model itself, or more, when it should only be a couple of dollars or free from Amazon.
I spoke with someone at FFG last week and he said that it would be a month before they would be released. My local store owner also said that FFG promised the store owners that Internet based companies would NOT receive product before regular stores.
Somebody found some product and sold it through Amazon.

No they're being sold by Amazon itself, not a 3rd party.
The listing says sold From and Sold by Amazon.com. If it's sold by a 3rd party and only has Amazon offering the service, it lists the seller.
Someone just found a shipment of wave 1 that was probably lost in the warehouse. My wave 1 ships will come next week with prime. I ordered when it said "1 to 2 days to process order." Oh well I don't mind. I have been waiting long for reprints. So can't hurt to wait alittle more.

If anyone found some product behind a box of diapers, it was Amazon.
UPDATE: as of 3pm pst everything is in stock and sold/shipped by Amazon.
Edited by Hav0kI ordered 2 Y-Wings in August from thecultofthenew based in Ontario. I can't go through amazon.com's route, as it simply no longer ships to Canada almost 100% of the time, and amazon.ca's prices are at a ridiculous $26 per small ship.
The fact that there's *finally* some movement south of the border for these ships gives me hope I'll get mine within a month.
All my Wave 1 ships have shipped today. They are coming out of Coffeyville KS U.S.

If'd I known that, I'd go down there and pick up some. I live in KS.
This store now has TIE Advanced and Y-Wing in stock, so looks like those ships are part of the restock.
RockinB never ran out of wave 1, they wouldn't be indicative of restock.
Sounds like they have arrived and due to the supper logistics of amazon have been spread to all their warehouses across the country the initial NJ stuff suggests containers through the panama canal. But who knows
Sounds like they have arrived and due to the supper logistics of amazon...
But again there's several issues with that.
According to the Upcoming page on this site.
1) The shipments go from the printer to FFG's wearhouse, and from there to the retailers. Stuff doesn't go directly to Amazon.
2) The X-Wing and Tie Fighter are still listed as on the boat. So they haven't even made it here yet.
3) The Y-Wing and Tie Advanced are listed as At the Printer, so they haven't even shipped yet.
4) No other retailer seems to have Wave 1 in stock yet. Two different online stores I know of both list Wave 1 stuff out of stock. FFG has said that they won't ship to a given retailer before others. Doing so is a very, very bad decision anyway.
5) the CS email up there doesn't really mean anything. CS people are notorious for not knowing what they're really talking about. Plus they only say it's new not old. To someone in Amazon CS, the only thing they'd know is what their computer tells them. If this was found stock, it would still be considered new.
I'll admit, I have no idea why I care how or why Amazon has stuff in stock when no one else does, ther then perhaps because I enjoy a mystery. Also my opinion of FFG would be damaged a bit if they did work out a deal with Amazon to get them stock before everyone else.
Edited by VanorDMMaybe Amazon had a large standing order and to save cost a small shipment was sent to them at the same time as they were to arrive at FFG. and because of how efficent they are they updated and shipped way before everyone else.
Maybe Amazon had a large standing order and to save cost a small shipment was sent to them at the same time as they were to arrive at FFG.
But that's now how it should work based on what I have seen and heard.
All stock should go to FFG first, and they have told game shop owners that no retailers gets it before everyone else.
I mean it might show up some places sooner then others. But it's been 3 days now and Amazon is the only place to have it.

All we know at this point is that Amazon got new stock to multiple locations. It's not necessarily from FFG, or the new printing. It's possible Amazon got them from somewhere else that had some crates in storage somewhere.

I'm just saying... I do keep seeing this argument thrown around (1). Is it fact? Or grapevine? Doesnt seem unlikely to me. Probably your largest retailer receiving your shipment straight from the manufacturer. Amazon's order is probably huge in comparison and are pretty efficient at what they do. It's feasible they want shipments to go straight to them. As it is last I heard, they are going to start shipping some items straight from the manufacturer now. And as much as you want to please all your retailers, you want to keep the elephant happy. (of course, this is all assumption.)
And why it would disappoint anyone that they do this is beyond me. It's business. They would be supporting their largest retailer. If you want to buy local, wait a bit and the product will be there. (I don't mean that in any disdainful way.)

Or this is possible.
Edited by Hav0kYeah I don't know what the deal is. I got a shipping notification on my Advanced already, though, so however they got the ships apparently they were dead serious.

According to the Upcoming page on the FFG site, there's 3 status that a product can be in regards to being stocked. There's also the in developoment and in stores... But those don't matter in this case.
Based on that page, stuff is either at the printer, on the boat, or...
The product is being shipped from the FFG warehouse in Minnesota to stores and distributors
So based on that, no Amazon isn't getting product directly from the printer. Plus LGS owners have said that FFG reps have told them this won't happen. Everyone would be shipped the product at the same time.
And as much as you want to please all your retailers, you want to keep the elephant happy.
Actually no you don't. Not if keeping the elephant happy means no one else carries your product. LGS that can't sell product because they get it 2-3 weeks after Amazon already has it, are going to serriously consider taking up shelf space with that product.
It's a bad idea to give one retailer such a huge advantage over others. Right now everyone is buying from Amazon because they're the only ones with stock. Surely how this hurts other retailers is pretty easy to see.
Now some products can get away with that. But Miniture games are not one of them. They rely way to much on the LGS to provide people a place to play and run events to take the risk of alienating them that way. Some games like say Warmachine actually has a clause that prevents online retailers from marking their product down by mor then 10% just so the LGS can stay competitive, because they know they need LGS's to keep their sales up.
Plus the idea that Amazon sells more X-Wing product then say Miniture Market, Aintitcool or NWS is an assumption, and one I'm not so sure is all that accurate. Amazon may be a big name, but I think it's as safe as an assumption that as many if not more go to Mini Market or other online game retailers, or their LGS as do Amazon.
