Will FFG have 3x3 play areas defined for the championship and for side events? I ask because if so, I can avoid bringing my 3x3 vinyl mat in a plastic tube on a plane.

They have a bunch of 3x3 paper printed mats at the Games Center (nee Event Center).

Also they have a policy (at least they did at gencon) against using your own mat. My nice felt mat went unused :-(

While not terribly flashy, their play surface(es) are all the same and perfectly fine.

And they had 50 of them at gencon. I gotta believe they will have enough.

Although that's not to say you can't bring your own and try and play some pickup games when not busy with tournies.
