Any idea on how to create stats, background and descriptions for void whales
In The Koronus Beastiary pg 36 and 37 you can modify the void kraken. Take away its tentacles and give it an armored prow to ram ships with, and you just about have it. It will probably have less Manoeuvrability and no turrets. The size the kraken though is close to a raider or a frigate, I do believe. While a void whale could be the same, others are cruiser size. I vaguely remember void whales having a sonar attack for some reason...... Come to think of it, didn't someone do a write up of void whales in this forum?
Edit: yay no black!!!
Edited by Nameless2allwhat would be the best way to use void whales in endeavors?
I can see several uses. Either a migration through a system is a threat you have to beat off (destroying orbital infrastructure, attacking ships), or an opportunity to exploit (it's huntin' season!). In an extreme case you might like to try farming them...

rotfl and I was thinking that weaponizing them Zerg-style is the most hardcore way.
Depends on their 'ecology'. Servitor-izing them may be possible, but will require and awful lot of bits. Otherwise, releasing them into a system as an area denial weapon might work...
Depends how big you want to make them. Catching one for food might vary between a whaling hunt, harpoon and buchery activity, to something more like killing one with a small detonation (say...the warheads from half a dozen ship-to-ship torpedoes!) to the brain stem, followed by what more resembles setting up an asteroid mining facility to carve it up into 'sellable meat' over months or even years.... or, indeed, cashing in faster by selling 'mining claims' on the carcass to third parties.
We had the latter when Void Whales made an appearance in a campaign I was GM-ing. The party (who needed to secure a source of food for their deep-expanse colonies) heard rumours of an agri-world called 'Badrukk's Moon' . It wasn't common knowledge as it was in a system you wouldn't expect to support an agri-world, and it was on the fringes of Undred-Undred Teef territory.
They dropped out of warp on the fringes of the system to see a gas giant with the half-buchered corpse of a void-whale parked in high orbit, surrounded by dozens of human and alien ships carrying away thousands of tonnes of void-frozen whalemeat...
Provoking the inevitable response "That's no moon....."
Edited by Magnus GrendelAs a GM, I see void whales having various uses. Their skin is resistant to the void, so that can be made into some type of void suit, protective canvass, unique clothing/attire. The bones can be displayed on a planet, used to make ornaments, furniture etc. The meat could be a delicacy, and the blood might have a trait that can be synthesized to cure rare "incurable" ailments. The teeth, bones, claws, etc can be made into weapons or gothic type armour. Heck, the armored head of the beast could be your new ram on the nose of your ship. Just ideas off the top of my head. Magnus Grendel had way better endeavor ideas, btw.

I'm stealing this, that's a great little adventure.
Edited by Ale GolemDoes anyone have rough idea of what one looks like?
They are a little over 19km long and look like this:
