The same as it always was, that people seem to be too concerned with the number of lasers attached to a ship when working out it's Attack value, when other things like power of the laser and rate of fire are just as important.
But this works just fine.
Look, we have:
Light laser cannons (hwk)
(Medium) Laser cannons
(Rapid fire laser cannons - firespray)
Heavy Laser cannons
thats it for the starfighters
now we got blaster weapons with different rules - they are mightier then laser cannons, but lacking range
The next weapon introduced will be turbolasers. I guess they will be devastating (>4) but inefficient against small ships
