How playable are the Force Packs?

By Hans Chung-Otterson, in Star Wars: The Card Game

Hey folks,

Getting back into the game, and I have everything except for the two most recent Force Packs. This thread isn't asking if I should buy FP's--I'm going to buy all of them regardless--but rather, since I don't really know what decks are being played out there, if the cards in the Force Packs are being used a lot. I see a lot of "against Hoth Objectives" and such text on cards as I organize them, and it makes me think these cards are good, except an easy defense is just to not play Hoth at all. How much is Hoth being used? Would it be cool to have a Hoth-only format (like, for a one-off tournament or something)?

Thanks!

I would highly recommend the Hoth cycle. DS and LS got some excellent additions.

As far as a Hoth only format, I don't think there are enough objectives for either side.

LS has plenty for a Hoth only deck if desired.

You need the last two packs. The DS got some really great cards. The LS got some great cards in the last pack and some decent ones the pack before that.

As far as the final two force packs go....... hoth speeders, AT-ATs and the executor....enough said

My current LS deck is almost all Hoth, but there isn't enough good Hoth objectives for the DS to do only and only Hoth tournament.

It was also said in one of the preview articles that we're not quite done with Hoth, and should expect to see at least a couple more Hoth objectives in the coming cycle.

Rad!
