Hi everybody, ^_^

I searched for old topics to find an answer to my doubts but i didnìt find anything about it so i decided to create a discussion hoping someone can answer me.

1 - When an Overlord moves his giant monsters can he shrink the monster, move 3 spaces (for example a shadow dragon), place the monster forward to "steal some spaces" and then do another move action to shrink the monster, move 3 spaces and place again the monster forward?
i try to draw an example:

X - monster tile
O - movement with shrinked monster

1st move action 2nd move action

XXX O O XXX O O XXX
XXX XXX XXX

With this "tecnique" a shadow dragon can move up to 10 spaces.. is it legal? i'm afraid i misunderstood the rule!! :(

2 - Can i use staff of light twice in my turn to heal my hero friends by 2 damages and 2 fatigues?

Thank you for you help,

A new descent player

1. Yes, that is perfectly legal.

2. Yes, Staff of Light's ability requires an action, the person wielding it has two :)

The slick thing with the staff is that the person wielding it can essentially fatigue move twice a round and recover all his stamina for doing so.

I'm still pretty new, but I would say:

1> Yes that's allowed. I think they factored the 'shrinking' extra moves into the design of the game

2> Yes you can. It requires an action to use it each time.

thank you very much! :)

You may also want to consider this when moving large monsters, you can always interrupt movement to perform another action, then carry on with your movement afterwards. For example, let's say that there is a shadow dragon that has three (horizontal) spaces in between him and a hero. He can "shrink", move one space, expand to occupy the three spaces and be adjacent to the hero, attack, and still have two movement points to spend after the attack.

The new FAQ specifies that the monster must be able to accomplish the action from its one square "shrunken" position to be allowed to interrupt his movement and to then expand.
