Ramming Speed
If you would perform a maneuver that would cause your ship's base to overlap another ship's base, you may remove that ship from the field to complete your maneuver as though it wasn't there. Immediately after completing your maneuver, the removed ship's owner places their ship on the field, in front of and touching your ship.
A new ship upgrade idea
Thats kinda the way it is anyways. You can move through opponents ships without penalty. Only if they overlap at the end of the movement do you have overlap rules applying.
Basically, what this does is, rather than you stopping when you have a collision, you push their ships forward until your maneuver stops.
We've played that way for asteroids.
What the OP is suggesting is a card that lets you push your opponent out of the way, rather than having your own movement modified. So if I end up overlapping, I push you backwards instead of sliding back along my own path.
