Advantages to playing 150 over 100?

Now this is one thing I have to ask. Would the theoretical ability to do more attacks against a single ship really be an issue? In practice I can't imagine a massive swarm managing to consistently aim that many shoots at a single ship without a lot of skill and effort. It might happen but I can't see you reliably getting that many more shots on a small base than in a standard game.

And if you do assault missiles will really cramp your style.

Turrets.

I feel that 150 is about as balanced as 100, some things get better, some a bit worse. Support Ships are definitely a bit more useful, but saying that I feel that they may be a tiny bit underpowered at 100, once you get a support ship set up it can be hard to fit in ships for them to support in 100pts.

At the club I go we regularly run 2v2 with 150 per player. We have a ball of a time and get through 2 games in an evening! 100 to 150 is the standard points for a 1v1 game but then again this Wednesday I have a 1v1 250 pointer just coz we can :P

If we play a tournie or tournie practice then we go 100 points.

Advantages of going over 100:

- More ships and more hilarity/action

- More interesting builds and combo's

- We can field all our models from a faction

- We can experiment with new builds

- We feel that we are doing something wrong and naughty and FFg will hate us forever

- Bigger games are more fun and 2-4 players per side lends itself to club playing better.

- Much more socialable.

Most of what you said is purely subjective or really not even true.

I know I could never field everything I own from a faction for 150 points. I also I know I'm far from alone on that.

But this last one is simply untrue. 150 point games are not more sociable then 100 point games.
