Triple B-wings - Triple HLCs

By Cptnhalfbeard, in X-Wing Battle Reports

Had a really solid game yesterday with Rebels, and I wanted to share the list I used and maybe see if you folks have comments/tweaks (I'm sure others have run this or something similar):

BBBQ:

Blue squad pilot + HLC + Sensor Jammer (33)

Blue squad pilot + HLC + Sensor Jammer (33)

Blue squad pilot + HLC + Sensor Jammer (33)

99 pts

Can't find a way to use that extra point, but I think that's fine. The sensor jammers kind of force your opponent to focus, and if they don't, it severely cuts down on damage. I was defending against 3 shots, 3/4 dice each and maybe taking 1 or 2 damage a round when my opponent wasn't focused. Then I would fire back with 12 dice regardless of range. Sure, you don't crit much, but taking out a shuttle on the second round of attacks isn't bad.

Took out 2 shuttles and vader without losing a ship - only 1 of my b-wings lost his shields.

Yeah, leaving it at 99 would get you initiative, though it would only help out if your enemy was fielding some lower skilled pilots as well.

It sounds good, keep us updated.

Looks interesting, but to be honest beating a 2 shuttle squad isnt that hard. Get behind them and its game over, could do it with a couple of Awings. I really like 1 shuttle with some well thought out tie support, but they must be there to play a specific role, and with two of them they are going to get exposed, unless someone flies straight at you slowly you arent going to get far.

iv just played against a B Wing with HLC and i was very impressed with its firepower. 4 dice at long range and 4 dice at close range is very scary. its low agility is a bit of a concern but sensor jammer clearly helps reduce damage over the course of a game eh?

I do like that use of sensor jammer. Though if you are already running a swarm of ties, you'll be using that focus offensively anyways. Though it does prevent your enemy from using target locks without a focus to back it up. Could be infuriating for some lists.

No Elite talent slot.

True, but the great thing about sensor jammer is it forces your opponent to spend their focus on attack. If your tie has focus and gets 2 hit results, you get to save your focus for defense. With the jammer I turn one to an eye result and force you to spend it when you could have saved it. Okay maybe forced is the wrong word, but you want those 2 hits, right? :)
