I knew I need my own Deathstarboard the minute I got my first XW Box, and 2D won't scratch my itch, so:

earlier with no crossbeams:

1,20m * 1,20m to use with Dagoba Daves Trench Run Mission
Paper on thin isolationboards with lots of tape
papercraft textures from FatDragonGames

foldable like a roadmap, which has some small stability issues, maybe I'll change that

Next Steps:

1. Fix the instability with some Velcrobased Connectors and Pillars

2. build some (~10/11) papercraft Turbolkaser Turrets, some Tie Hangars and more generic obstacles

3. Fly! (I'll be sooo happy!)

Mine does not "fold". I built square wooden boxes that elevate the surface of the DS and create the sides of the trench.

The surface sections are flat and lay atop the elevation boxes. No folding, but stacks nicely.

The surface sections are flat and lay atop the elevation boxes. No folding, but stacks nicely.

Impressive, it tackles very well the problem I am facing atm: Getting nice 90° Edges and a straight trench.

The support boxes would do away with the need for any support beams over the trench and allow your construction to still fold up, save the boxes of course. I used resin turrets not paper just for the easy factor.
