So I just got my Appied Perspective templates and token and all I can say is "quality"and they have that "wow" factor. These things look great. The only things I didnt buy were the shield tokens cause I have so many from the tournament. Now I compared them to the Litko and one other terrible set and these were by far superior in quality, aesthetics and original intent. Now the tokens were far and beyond better than Litko's cheap look and feel and the Fantasy Flight tokens are not nearly as readable. No I am not in any ways a spokesman for the company whoever they may be, but these thing are absolutely worth their price. Any questions and let me know.

I have there movement and range templates. They are really that good.
Might I ask why style you got? And how long the shipping took? I was actually just looking at them today and cant set my mind to a color just yet, so first hand experience reviews would be helpful. ![]()
-Thanks!
Shipping took 3 days from MN to CS and I got the Mirroed Purple Templates, Trasparent Red Critical Markers and Stress Markers, Translucent Blue Focus, Droid, Elite Pilot and Evade Markers, I also bought the Target Lock tokens and also awesome Ion tokens in translucent yellow or orange. I dunno I am colorblind. The Target lock tokens dont look great in their pictures, but they are spot on and very readable and distinguishable. I got free shipping because I spent over 50. My total was 67 for supurb tokens and templates. You might not buy as much as I did or may even buy more. I can do a photo if I can get it to work.
Edited by Wookie HunterI hope you can get the pictures up! I am very interested in seeing these tokens and templates. Thanks in advance!!!
I can help on the picture
Those look awesome! I'll have to get a set of those!
Awesome, the photos look good, I was actually planning on doing mirroed purple as well.
One more questions to who ever can answer, the last one I promise, is it mirrored on both sides or just one?
Edited by Hujoe BigsI like my custom image Litko movement templates from them as you saw last Saturday and plan on getting another set
. I am emailing back and forth with the designer on how the image would look on the template on the final product. They do look good don't get me wrong. That's just my two cents.I be happy to provide an image of the Litko movement templates if anyone wants to see the comparison.
Mirrored Blue might have been a better choice I dunno. I heard the Blue is amazingly popping.
What is the size like on the tokens? I was hoping for something a little bit smaller than the official ones so that I can store more of them in a smaller space.
I have the mirrored blue and they are awesome.
I'm hoping AP eventually gets around to showing all their color options on the movement templates. Right now I'd say about 1/4 of the options actually display what it looks like when you select the color - the rest default back to the blue. I have mixed feelings on AP vs Litko, having personal stake in neither company, and having bought some products from each.
I would be curious to try out some AP move/range templates sometime. On the other hand, I'm exceedingly happy with the custom ones I had Litko make up for me (sampled below). I am not a huge fan of some of the AP token designs, although I had heard they may be coming up with some new versions, potentially, but their Droid action and Pilot Skill action tokens are both awesome looking and something I don't think anyone else is doing right now.
So AP's tokens are a bit hit or miss for me. Some like Droid and EPT are awesome. Most are ok, but nothing special. A few of them are just downright fugly.
I also disagree (from my own personal experience at least) that Litko's stuff feels 'cheap' or 'terrible.' The stuff I've gotten from Litko has been consistently high quality and I've been extremely pleased. My two problems with Litko are that they're slow (expect a full 3-4 weeks from the date of purchase), and their designs are a bit hit or miss. I have reviews up on most of their X-Wing stuff, and you can see at a glance what's rated well and what's not. The well-designed stuff, though, has been fantastic.
AP I think makes some very nice stuff but I'm holding off buying a ton of their tokens until they change some of the designs to make them less ugly or bland. I have heard good things about their templates, though, and may check those out and then come back with a personal review. My wife wants some...sigh...pink ones, so I might have occasion.
Anyway, while Litko's designs are a bit hit or miss, when they're on they're fantastic, and their customer service has been excellent. A couple of months back I ordered the custom move templates and sweet talked them into pushing the boundaries of what they normally do as far as 'customizing' so I could come up with some sweet orange idiot-proof move templates. The finished products are phenomenal.
I need to clean them up a little bit yet, since I painted in the etching - and yes, they do insist on putting their own logo and info on one end of the token, so your mileage for putting up with that may vary. But I'm very pleased overall.

As long as we're on the subject of 3rd party tokens, I absolutely love the new Litko target locks - the Target Locks from AP are one of my least favorite of their designs, although WH seems happy with them. Litko recently came out with a line of upright tokens on little bases - some of them are terrific, some are cool but not really necessary, but the target locks are brilliant, IMO, and look fantastic on the table.

On the target locks, I'm working with Adam (the guy who owns AP) on new designs on some art for the tokens. We have a new Ion token pretty much ready. I have a tweaked focus one almost ready. We have a new shield design that echos the cockpit control in the X-Wing game. Most importantly, we have a totally different target lock token design with a new feature unlike anything other vendors have. I think it's about done, just some final engraving designs to polish up. I may refresh the evade as well, just to add a lil detail to it.
You're such a tease. =^D
I was on vacation!
Adam cut some of the target locks and they are working great. Pics soon, just have to finalize the engraving art.
I may have bought too soon but I am still very happy with what I received.

I seemed to have lost one of my 1 stright templates, and they're starting to get a bit banged up. I think it's time to consider getting a set of mirrored blue or red ones. Well most likely both at some point. ![]()

And I'm not trying to knock them - I may actually wind up ordering some AP move templates for my wife - the AP guy actually had some interesting ideas how he would have made some tweaks to what Litko gave me, which I'm intrigued by. May use my wife as a guinea pig. ![]()
Not to mention the droid and pilot tokens are dead brilliant. I don't know why we never had those before - things like R2F2 or EH, Daredevil, etc, are common enough and it's easy to forget if you took your action if there's a lot going on. Terrific design on those, both in form and in function. So I'm very excited to see a second 'wave' of designs from AP, because I feel like their stuff has been getting better and better.
I think they're also local, aren't they (he?) Hexis?
By Local, you mean Minneapolis metro, yes. Not precisely sure where Adam lives. Somewhere out in the sticks. I'm in NE Minneapolis proper.
Yeah, I meant Twin Cities somewhere, I guess, the way you were talking.
I knew you and I were both in 'nordeast.
Somewhere out in the sticks.
Out in the sticks can cover a whole lot of Minnesota.
I live not far from the Metro myself....
The Wookie also reminded me that when I do place an order I need to get a couple of those droid and EPT tokens.
Edited by VanorDMOh yeah? Where abouts are you, Vanor? And do you ever make it up to the 'big city?' ![]()
