Is the additional damage icon direct or only if you win the edge battle?

If you manage to destroy a light side objective and another objective bounces a character back to your hand, are attachments lost or do they go back to your hand with the character?

Extra damage is not edge dependent. It doesn't have brackets around it.

If a character goes back to hand all attachments are lost.
