Star Fox for Xwing

By basilisk 51, in X-Wing

I have seen a few threads about changing things, but the thing that comes up most is the flying off the table. I havent had this be to big of a problem but what we have used as house rules when we arent playing tournament style is the Star Fox K-turn. Basically, if you fly off the table or your base goes off the table then you are removed for that turn. During the movement phase that ships movement is to be placed on the board edge so that its base is right against the edge and the ship is facing toward the center of the map so it cant come in at an angle to get unfair shooting or placement advantages. So as much if the abse as possible is touching the edge and the ship is always facing inward. It also recieves a stress token.

Oddly enough this doesnt change the ioning off the table cause the ion token stays on and now they are stressed :) so the ships basically gone either way. Anyways its made the games alot of fun and easy for new people not to get screwed. Tournaments might want to do the stay on table thing but off-table escorting isnt to popular anymore so most of our local tournaments are using this house rule.

Does anyone have any changes? What other house rules does everyone play with?

I would abuse the hell out of this mechanic.

Step 1: Find a corner
Step 2: Go off the map.
Step 3: Return, and shoot
Step 4, Perform a green bank or turn to go off the other side of the corner.
Repeat.

I would only actually be on the map every other turn, thus saving me a lot of defense.

Try my Atari Asteroids version where you appear on the opposite side of the board when your maneuver carries you over the edge.

I think if you fly offin a tournament the ship is destroyed! NO HOUSE RULE FOR THAT (flying skill challenged)!!!

As far as friendly games, to each his own.
