Ok, so we played our first 2v2 game the other night, my wife played her smuggler vehicles and I played my rebel vehicles and we won with the dial at 6 (I'm sure we broke some rules by forgetting them) and it was still a ton of fun. Having had a feel for how teamwork plays out in 2v2 games, I went home to try to specifically build some decks for the multiplayer format using the current card pool:
#1
Jedi affiliation
2x A Journey to Dagobah
2x Questionable Contacts
2x Wookie Life Debt
2x Asteroid Sanctuary
2x Last Defense of Hoth
#2
Smugglers and Spies affiliation
2x Trust Me
2x A Hero's Journey
2x In You Must Go
2x The Secret of Yavin IV
2x A Message From Beyond
Both decks have 6 resources cards (although R2 is unique) and both decks are almost entirely character driven (even Red Two's pod has a character focused event in it). Since the DS could only ever have 4 Force Chokes, combined with Guardians and (if we get Wookie Life Debt) the wookies all shunting damage around, I think it'd be a difficult combo to deal with.
My thinking on swapping affiliation was so that each of us would be able to buy the other's cards via the common reserve if need be. If she had a Chewbacca and a Han in her hand, and I got nothing but chuds, she could toss one into the reserve and I could buy it and we could get both going on the same turn. Of if she has Han and I got no good targets for Trust your Feelings or Old Ben's Spirit, I could toss one in the reserve and she could slap it on Han or Chewie and go to town.
This is entirely experimental, and I REALLY want to shoe-horn in Obi-Wan somewhere so we can use Jedi Mind Trick. I'm 100% certain this list will evolve through trial and error, but at least on paper it looks fun AND effective.
Thoughts?
