What if?

By DraconPyrothayan, in X-Wing

My league runs a house-rule RPG based on X-Wing every now and then, and among other things unique about it are the ability for any ship to gain a specific pilot's ability.

For instance, you could have Biggs Darklighter in a Tie Advanced, or Captain Yorr in an A-Wing.

Understanding that the large-base ships count as 2 ships, and that regular Tie Fighters count as 1/2 a ship for a 3-ship fleet, what combinations would you like to see?

mind blown.. I wouldn't even know where to begin.. need some time to dwell on this ha!

I've been doing something similar in a story based campaign I was running. My characters were allowed to upgrade there pilot skill by 1 per campaign turn by spending XP equal to there current pilot level plus 1 and could only do this once per turn but than they could also spend any extra XP on pilot upgrades or ships upgrades. So each pilot could have multiple Elite Pilot abilities earned during the campaign. So if your RP character pilot who was maybe a A-wing pilot and he wanted Biggs ability he would have to have earned at least the same pilot skill level of 5 and spend additional Experience Points equal to half the pilot skill level difference rounded up of Biggs character.

Example: Darkstar is a A-wing pilot starting at Pilot level 1 and had reached Pilot level 5. He could pay the cost for any normal pilot upgrade at its normal cost or take Biggs ability but it would cost Biggs pilot skill level divide by 2 rounding up in experience points. (5 / 2 = 2.5 rounded up to 3).

I hope that makes sense.
