Mos Shuuta- Off World Traders and Ryloth- Nabat Maps [OC]

By Busboy80, in Game Masters

Hi guys,

I'm running through the Beginners game and Long Arm of the Hutt and thought I'd share my maps with you. I'm using the tools from this post, which has been super helpful:

http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/90148-maps-modules-and-map-creation-materials/

Criticisms are welcome. If you like them I'll post more as I create them.

Feel free to reuse them as needed!

Off World Traders and Coffee:

-You walk into a medium sized squat building full of the most random assortment of stuff you have ever seen. A used bacta tank, a couple R3 droids, with a sign above them saying "ALMOST COMPLETE!", random parts and pieces of ships, a holovid table, heavily used, an old speeder bike that has clearly been wrecked one too many times.

-In the back on the room are some mismatched tables and chairs, a few different being are sitting at the tables drinking steaming drinks but looking like they are regretting their purchase.

-A Toydarian peaks from behind the counter and says in a half bored voice "Welcome to Off world Traders" cough"and coffee" cough then leans back in his chair and absently types away at his datapad.

-He ignores you unless you approach the counter and ask him a question.

Toydarian - Dovo

-Trade isn't going well in the shop, if you talk to Dovo about business he admits that Teemo has asked for so many taxes that he can't afford to purchase enough stock for his store. He will hesitantly tell you that his wife "offered" to help pay the rent by starting a Coffee shop in the back of the store, but he looks around, showing you with his eyes that his wife is nowhere to be found, and says "Obviously she left me to run it"

-Since he's had a few break ins lately, and is currently fighting with his wife, he sleeps in the store most nights.

-He's friendly, even if he has a negative outlook on life at the moment, and will talk pretty openly about anything that you want to ask him.

-He has a few weapons, nothing over rarity 5, and the common stimpacks and emergency repair kits for listed prices.

Nabat map:

-Made some changes to the narrative in Long Arm to make the city a little more interesting, and also allowing my PCs to return to a "known" place in later adventures.

-The city is built on the side of a huge cave deep underground to escape the hot weather on the surface. Metal plate walkways are attached to the side of the cliff, all the structures are dug directly into the side of the cliff.

-The gray square in the upper right corner is a tubolift that takes you up to the landing bays as described in Long Arm.

-The room next to it is a "Security Checkpoint". Local security takes any weapons, and taxes people for any goods they bring into the city. Bura knows the guard on duty(who is overjoyed in seeing Bura alive) and flags you through without taking any of your weapons or searching you.

-The Cantina has some small rooms in the back available for rent.

-The Clinic has basic medical facilities and can heal wounds for 10 credits per wound.

-The Metal area outside the Cantina has booths and tents with people selling randoms things, mostly junk.

-The Room to the south of the Clinic is a junk shop, Bura takes you there and after giving the owner a nod, opens a secret door that takes you back to a Spice storage area. Where you meet Nyn.

-The rooms below that are small apartments where the residents of Nabat stay

-The path continues to other parts of Nabat.

What program did you use to make the maps? Do you print them out or use them digitally?

Edit: Sorry for the dumb question, I thought I had clicked both links, but missed the first. Thanks!

Black text on gray background is terrible for your eyes btw.

I copied and pasted from Reddit and the color came over, sorry about that, I'll try to fix it.

I use paint.net to build the maps. It's really easy to use (use lots of layers) and free. All the pieces I got from the link I posted.

I WAS printing them out using MS Paint (there is a setting that allows you to print an image to multiple pages, then I just taped them all together). But a couple of my players live over an hour away so I'm switching to Roll20.net and am using them digitally. Roll20.net is really awesome and I use it with Google Hangouts. There is also a dice rolling app for google hangouts that works really well that I found on these forums.

Hope that helps!

These are awesome dude, wow. I also GM several campaigns on Roll20, and I will definitely use these maps if that's all right with you. Very nice work.

Especially Nabat is really well done.
