If you have any questions please contact me here and we hope to be bringing in a lot of food for the local food pantry!!

Gonna bump this so I remember to try and get there for this..

Sounds like a good cause.

How many people do you expect?

How many rounds do you anticipate?

Roughly what would you expect for prizes?

Anything else we should know having not been to the store before?

Hope to see you and more people there. To be honest I am not sure how many people will be showing up but I am hoping that we get at least 5-6 X-Wing players and there is a Hero Click event at the same time... We will be running a minimum of 3 rounds. Prizes will be plenty of Applied Perspective tokens. Store will also be doing random drawings every hour so donate more food for more tickets for random drawings.

New Game is a great little store that is trying to help the community. Just looking to get gamers together to have a fun time playing a game we all love. Hope you can be there!

We're in!

Your note says it starts at Noon while the store website says they open at Noon and the tournament starts at 1pm. Can you clarify?

Thanks.

That's great! Looking forward to meeting some new players.

To clarify the start times. Registration will start when the store opens at noon till about 12:50. First round matches will start at 1:00. Rounds will run for 60 minutes with 10-15 minutes between rounds so I can work scoring and get the next round pairings together. I am planning for three rounds but if we have a good turnout (10 or more people) we will go four rounds. We will not have more than four rounds.

Its great that we will be getting some players in from the stateline area. It should be a good time.... and remember to bring that food! :-)

So to bump and update what we are hoping will be a successful food drive event at New Game In Town in DeKalb, IL this coming Sunday...

Prizes!! So what can you expect when you donate a minimum of 3 cans of food... Well aside from being able to participate in a fun event against players new and old you will get participation prizes such as the Alt Art Gold Squadron Card and acrylic Stress tokens. Each round will have special objectives (your goal is still to beat your opponent but who can win and be the first to one shot an enemy) to win different Applied Perspectives tokens. Finally the prize for first place will be raffle tickets, an Applied Perspectives Range Template, more tokens, and the prize kit medal!! Not bad for three cans of food...

But wait what are the raffle tickets for??? Well when you donate cans of food at the event (beyond the three can/box entry fee) you will get raffle tickets to that you can use to win some great prizes offered by the store. Two of which are the Slave One and a Lambda Shuttle!!

So we hope to see a great turnout for this event on Sunday. Doors to the store open at 12:00. Registration runs from 12:00 to 12:50 and the first round starts at 1:00. Be there and bring that food so we can make help to make every family in DeKalb have a great holiday.

Sounds like it's gonna be awesome.. I won't be able to make it unfortunately, had some issues with my vision this last weekend and driving, especially at night, really isn't safe for me.. enjoy the day lads I'll hopefully be able to get to an event next year.

May the Force be with you...

Dang... Wish you could make it. Keep your a look out on the forums for more events at New Game and it looks like we will have a couple people with X-wing to play a game or two on Thursdays!

Well.. if someone is driving by cherry valley on their way down, I could help with gas money.. lol..

Thanks for the fun time! My "Killer Bees" just couldn't outmaneuver Chargers Imperial squad. Potential heavy hitters with absolute no ability to outfly anyone!

Some really good matches and it was great to meet some players from new locations. Only wish we had a better turnout so we could have some more great games.

I tried to load some pictures of the action today but this web site is not upload friendly and I almost lost all my typing... will work on pictures in a new comment box... :-)

Thanks again to everyone and hope to see some new faces on Saturday, December 21st!

Just drop your pictures to a off site place like photobucket, and then load them from there, you'll be fine..

sounds like you guys had a great time, Glad you had a decent turn out.

I'll have to set one up. All I have is Dropbox right now but it is not offsite. I will get at it when I get back home.

It was a really good group and some good matches too. I will say the dice were definitely not friendly for one player. He had a brutal day. But seeing the Killer Bees in action was pretty sweet. I got to see mass Ion Cannons in action for the first time and learned just how awesome they can be.

Looking forward to more events in the area.

Ouch, sucks to have a bad day with dice.. one of the reasons I put no stock in all the 'dice probability' threads.. lol.. sure there is a statistically accurate way to think of them, but dice are dice.. they love you one day and give you great hits all day, or they hate you and you can't save your butt for nothing.. lol..

I hope to make the next tourney.. barring any bad weather. I live in Cherry Valley so I'm not far, but a car pool down might help too if anyone lives up in the Rockford area.. I can help with some gas money as well..

Yeah, I was the one the dice loved to hate. I couldn't hit anything with regular attacks, but wasn't having any issue with the Y-wings Ion turret.

My list contained 26 hits to table me. In three games I scored 8 hits on opposing forces, and took over 40 to my squad. It was a terrible day to roll dice for me. I played Rebs, and I should have known better. I'm an Imperial, I should have stuck to my guns. Oh well, Next time gaget, NEXT TIME!!

Thank you, shintaibane, for calling out the tourney and running it. Looking forward to seeing the pictures; the angles should be interesting.

Thank you, New Game in Town, for hosting it and donating some awesome prizes. A food drive was an awesome idea and glad we could help the cause.

We had a blast and look forward to more games with the group.
