Amazon UK lists it's release as the 22nd of October. Is that accurate or not? Its also the supposed release of Edge of the Empire Enter the Unknown sourcebook.
Balance of the Force release date
Nope, it looks like FFG expects this to ship in December.

Most likely that was the original date before it was pushed back. Amazon is notorious for being wrong with release dates.
It isn't even "on the boat" yet: http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_upcoming.asp
I am hoping it will available at Worlds in November! At least I will get to try it out.
Rules are already out so you can try it now. 3 of the 6 sets have been or are in process of being spoiled so really can play it now.

Amazon are NEVER a good source for release dates. Check Esdevium for releases since they are the ones who stock Amazon.co.uk and board game/hobby shops across the UK.
You could also follow the upcoming section of the FFG site. Once it is on the boat, it is generally 3 (I believe) weeks until it sees stores in the US.

But I gotta have that new Death Star dial!

I've been using the LOTR dial. ![]()
It's back on the boat. So what like 3-4 weeks? Mid December?
Finally.
Yeah, their site says 4-6 weeks, which is generally what it takes to get it in CO, so my guess for everywhere else is mid Dec.
I've been looking at the release schedule and it says it's currently on the boat. The release date is December 6th. ![]()
Here is to hoping.
A January release for the next Force Pack would keep things neat and tidy.
It feels like it's ben so long since we got new cards, I really hope it gets here in December

Went back to December 2013. Oh well I knew it was too good to be true for December 6th.
I have said this before, but I am excited for the new cards. I hope that if it is going to be later in the month that they give us at least a little spoiler of the Navy set.

I'm somewhat surprised they didn't have demo versions of all of the sets for people to borrow when playing against the challenge decks at worlds... but I guess that would have slowed things down a lot as people swapped cards in and out of decks.
So will the LS challenge deck become easier to beat as the card pool expands or harder as they'll have access to more splash pods? Can you imagine all 3 DS players over extending only to be met next turn with the LS player dropping a couple big force icon guys and essentially wiping the board with The Force Is My Ally? That deck is going to have some interesting changes and tweaks as the game expands. The DS challenge deck may not age as well.
In the rules (if I remember correctly) they already mentioned that currently as it stands the Light Side Challenge Deck works best against 2 not 3 players. 3 players is considered skewed towards the dark side, whereas 2 is balanced, Probably because of the ability to splash objective sets in.
As the card pool expands I wouldn't be surprised if you couldn't make the light side more consistent except the dark side card pool will expand as well so I'm sure the vs. 2 is probably going to remain where it is most balanced for.
Well, the upcoming page has the "expected by" this Friday. Finger crossed.
Over time we will likely see new challenge decks coming out. I bet they'll be PoD products.
Edited by divinityofnumberHaving played a dozen or so games with the challenge decks, I would say neither of them scale well for 3 player. The issue is not with the cards, IMO, it is with the way the multiplayer rules are written. It is nearly impossible for a single player to win the "important" battles when EACH TEAMMATE may contribute someone to a strike. Having access to two additional units in a battle is huge.
