Captain yorr and soontir with elusiveness

By DarkGuard, in X-Wing Rules Questions

How would this combo work? How many times could I use elusiveness . If yorr takes the stress would soontir receive the free focus?

Over and over. The problem here is Shuttles have a rubbish dial so he'll quickly need to do a red maneuver himself or go off the board

The general consensus is, I think, that abilities/upgrades cannot cascade over and over within a turn. There is no precedence for this happening anywhere in the rules. There is some disagreement.

But I'd really like to see where this example goes.

You can certainly use Elusiveness/Yorr every time you get attacked. The disagreement Ken mentioned is about using it several times during one attack.

Does Fel receive a focus token? I think not. He would receive a stress token but he does not. So his ability never triggers.

Yorr: When another ... ship ... would receive a stress token ... you may receive that token instead.

Fel: When you receive a stress token ...

Thanks dvor.

Good catch.

New FAQ says that Fel doesn't get his focus if Yorr takes the stress from him

"SHOT DOWN IN A BLAZE OF GLORY!"

FAQ states the obvious...

From the newly-released FAQ:
Q: If Soontir Fel would receive a stress token,
but Captain Yorr receives it instead, does
Soontir Fel’s ability still trigger?
A: No.

Q: Can a card effect be used as many times
as desired when a ship has the opportunity
to use it?
A: No. A card effect can be used once per opportunity.
For example, the opportunity on the Luke Skywalker
Ship card is “when defending,” so he can only use
his ability once against each enemy attack.

wow these threads are a lot shorter, now that the new FAQ is out
