I've had my son staying with me the last couple of days so decided to try some different squad lists.
The first game I played Empire (as normal) and took the following:
Lambda - Captain Yorr, HLC, Recon Specialist
TIE Int - Soontir Fell, PTL, Stealth Device
TIE Int - Turr Fenir, PTL, Stealth Device
My son went Rebels and took the following:
YT-1300, ORS, MF
B-Wing, Blue Squadron Pilot, HLC
X-Wing, Rookie Pilots x2
This game was a disaster for me. He dropped both TIE int's in round 2 and I was left with the shuttle which he totally out manoeuvred and eventually destroyed.
Next game he took the same list as he was feeling cocky!
I went with 4 TIE Bombers, both named and 2 Gamma. This time my ordnance worked beautifully. Rhymer shot his APT at the YT-1300 all hitting with the benefit of the reroll from Jonus. Both gamma's hit with their assault missiles and both x-wings and the b-wing suffered splash damage. Wiped him out with the loss of a gamma bomber.
Today we decided to swap sides.
I flew 4 A-Wings, Green Squadron Pilots, with PTL, Stealth Device
He flew Firespray with Boba Fett, HLC, recon specialist
TIE Bomber Jonus
Lambda Shuttle
I was amazed at the agility of the A-wings. Against the 2 large ships they flew rings around them. They never got hit once and took down the shuttle and the bomber. The Firespray lost all it's shields a 2 hull points before time ran out!
Now I realise my sons list wasn't the most agile but it sure opened my eyes upto the fact that the A-Wings are really hard to hit! The dice were also on my side! I think I'll definitely be flying this rebel squad again! I know my son will from now on!
