Aside from the Interface itself, what else is needed? Do you need to get some kind of enhancement on the weapon to allow itself to be mounted and used with the interface?
MIU Weapon Interface
The entirety of the MIU Weapon Interface assumes the necessary upgrades to the weapon, you don't need anything else.
Narratively, how the MIU Weapon Interface works is up to you, but it is traditionally mounted - usually on the shoulder - and where it is aiming is relayed to a pair of glasses, a monocle or an ocular implant of some form. The weapon in effect becomes an extra limb that you can independently control, aim and shoot.
If you want to break it up into pieces for the purpose of background fluffing, then yeah, the weapon probably needs a number of enhancements in order to be able to relay the necessary information to the Interface, and you'd need a mounting depending on where you want to mount it.
OK thanks, that's what I needed,
I have a question about the MIU Weapon Interface.
Do you need to be proficient with the weapon to use it? Do you get penalties if your not?
I have a melta gun from my Regiment but i am not trained to use it.
Would you take this implant over some of the other stuff? We have two medics and i dont plan on adding to the healing. Unnatural Int is useless for anything but healing ... Unnatural Str could be nice if i want to melee some ... not the optimal move.
I'd still say you need proficiency. That talent doesn't say "you understand how the trigger of a meltagun works", but instead covers your knowledge of understanding the range of the weapon (short, in this case), its intended targets (heavy armor and vehicles), how to reload it (it doesn't have a las charge-pack, Guardsman, try again), and possibly, if you are skilled enough, how to maintain and repair it (meltaguns are ancient and complicated microwave cannons). Not having the proficiency covers not knowing the way in which the projectile will move, and/or what it'll do when it hits whatever target. You'd want the proficiency, whether aiming with your hands or your glasses.
It seems a decent option, if Implants are available to your unit. Bits and surgery/recovery time can be factors, but if you have the chance, I'd say grab it.

Yes, you have to bee proficient with the weapon or else you get the -20 to WS/BS test to use it.
