i have a couple of questions about the card game ufs, i have read the rule book and was wondering do i put only attacks and foundations in my deck and if so how do i use assets and other cards??? also where would i find out the current format "standard"??? also are there any websites that lead to card spoilers for decks, and the such, thanks for any help, just trying to get the game started at my card shop i go to....

You play assets, just like foundations, they just cannot be committed to pass control checks.
Action cards you play at the appropriate point in time (depending of if they state E, F, or R), and gain their effect immediately as they are played.

Standard tournaments, between now and April the 8th, any cards with 3 pointed star or 4 pointed star watermark in the text box are legal. After April 8th, the new base set, set 12, releases featuring the 5 pointed star watermark. At that time, standard will rotate and only 4 & 5 pointed star watermarked cards will be allowed in standard. Rotation happens once a year in spring.
