Meera Reed vs Burned and Pillaged

By xXxDaRkStAr, in 2. AGoT Rules Discussion

If a location i control has the Burned and Pillaged attatched... what happens if i blank it with Meera Reed? Does it get discarded?

yes. Since attachments cannot normally attach themselves to locations unless they say "attach to a location" (or some variation thereof), as soon as you blank the text box of said attachment, it becomes illegally attached, and must immediately be discarded.

Same goes for a situation where you want to get rid of your opponent(s)' Increased Levy or Pyromancer's Cache, etc so they can't draw/get extra gold/etc... blank them with Meera or a card effect that completely blanks the text box of an attachment, and voila. falls right off.

what other cards can i use to make the same effect on Burned and Pillaged?

Frozen Solid is the main one that pops to mind. "Attach to a non-unique location or attachment. Treat [it] as if its text box were blank." If it's a location attachment like Burned, makes both get discarded.

Thanks a lot mate :D

Actually, Frozen Solid's text goes "Attach to a non-Limited location or attachment. [...]". So it cannot be attached to Burned and Pillaged, which is Limited.

doesn't it stand for just non-limited location? whouldn't it say attach to a non-limited location or non-limited attachment otherwise?

No. It would read "attachment or non-Limited location" if it wasn't meant to be "non-Limited (attachment or location)". Compare with Nurtured by the Crone, which reads "cancel a triggered effect that chooses a unique character or location as its only target". Do you really think it can cancel an effect that targets any location, not just a unique one?

Great, Thanks a lot :)
